real talk though they're making a movie of it and it's directed by vicenzo natali, which is okay, but then it's starring mark wahlberg and liam neeson which worries me very much

Transmetropolitan is funny because it's a comic by a libertarian sperglord about how, sniffle, INSTITUTIONS AND JOCKS AND STUFF ARE MEAN but the hero is a cod Hunter S. Thompson, who was a patriotic socialist jock who enjoyed his military service.

Natali's film has been in production hell for years and neither Wahlberg nor Neeson actually signed on.

you are overthinking the political message of a comic about a future journalist sticking it to the man by exposing politicians' dirty laundry while acting like an rear end in a top hat the whole time
the point is his household appliances are on robot drugs and made him wacky glasses

No I'm just finding it really funny that King Obesetron of Fedora-Land wrote a huge sloppy knob job about Hunter S. Thompson despite knowing literally nothing about him or his politics beyond the Johnny Depp movie.

I'm going to be honest the whole comic is kind of a blur to me where the whole thing looks like the humourless nuAtheist storyline about the religious convention, but sport and sport journalism factored into those montages about GRR lovely JOURNALISM which is funny because Gonzo journalism is an outgrowth of sports journalism so whatever.

i feel like armitage is supposed to be like a psychotic ken doll-looking guy who is barely keeping a facade of normalcy together and neeson can only play wise grizzled veterans
