Say what you want about Kevin Costner ("He's amazing", "he's really dreamy", "he's probably one of the finest actors in Hollywood" etc etc) the movie doesn't just base it's hope on him. It has Dennis Hopper who probably has never done a bad movie in a strong role as a moral-ish antagonist who keeps his word but believes in an eye for an eye (joke about the movie). The female lead is played by the woman who isn't Geena Davis but might as well be, a commanding performance. I dunno who the kid is but she's probably still famous.

But what I really wanted to talk about was the actual Water WORLD. Imagine if you lived on Water World. Set hundreds of years after some calamitous deluge that flooded all but the tiniest speck of land and reverse the Earth's magnetic field. A world where paper and dirt are the most valuable commodities. A world where fresh water is called Hydro because it's the 90's.

What would you do on a Waterworld? If all the ice melted on our Earth, would we have one? How do I achieve this?
