There's a girl named Beth at my work who is always out in the common areas, on the phone. While this in itself isn't strange, I have never once seen her talking, just listening. I'll pass by on the way to the bathroom or a meeting, there she is, listening to the phone. Go back again an hour later, same thing. It happens every day and it's got me curious as to what she might be doing. Is she on hold? Listening to movie listings? Catching up on sports scores? She also seems vaguely upset or unhappy most of the time, like she doesn't like what she's hearing. Any ideas?
