BossRighteous posted:This is somehow a very good thing. It's because they only allow "cash accounts", it's an SEC rule that your trade has 3 days to clear the sale of the stock before you can use it again, otherwise it's called "free riding", which a broker is required to restrict your account for. The other type of account is a "margin account", which Robinhood will be offering soon. Then there's no free riding stipulation, but you run into day trading rules, where you can't make 4 intraday trades in a week or you get restricted, unless you have 25k+. Also you can buy stocks on margin then (using more money than you have in your account..borrowed money..where the real fun is) I'm doing pretty well so far with my (tiny) Robinhood account but I don't want to give any details lest I give someone the wrong impression about how easy this is. Balls of steel gents, that's what you need. Big hanging balls

I'll post a tip when I think of my next one but you're all gonna have to take it with a HUGE grain of salt because I'm a borderline retard who will shove my chips at the slightest sense of a positive outcome. I've worked in stock trading before but you can't fix stupid and reckless basically. Roll the dice niggas

My hot tip of the day continues to be FXCM, however it is important to remember that stocks are heavily impacted by feelings, and emotion. So I recommend buying 69 shares on a limit order at 2.65 .. the funny numbers will cause your emotional vibration to match tehat of the stock, and in turn send it soaring.

I just did exactly that and what do you now...2.85. I know my stuff.

What is the difference between an IPO and a regular stock?
|
# ? Jan 23, 2015 16:31 |
|
vInitial public offering (IPO) or stock market launch is a type of public offering in which shares of stock in a company usually are sold to institutional investors (that price the company receives from the institutional investors is the IPO price) that in turn sell to the general public, on a securities exchange, for the first time. Through this process, a private company transforms into a public company. It's basically Evolution from Pokemon

IPOs generally you can't get in at the real good prices and by the time they are available all the insiders just sell into the latecomers (who think they're early) and they lose their shirts. Not always true but usually. There is no technical difference though, an IPO is just a new stock.
