i wasn't impressed with the most recent battlefields, but im hoping as I post in this thread and the game releases, people will still be playing because it ends up being good and then ill buy it

but every battlefield thread ive ever followed on something awful had tons of people saying how great it was and how much they loved X map, and hardly any real criticism aside from the :dice: emote from someone who spends all beta playing anyway

then a month later, hardly any goons are actually really playing

?_?

I bought BF4 last month and literally have only played with at least 3-4~ goons in my squad. I've now dumped a good 60hrs into it.

Also I have one critique, please use capital letters. They are a good invention.

As for the game

Not enough guns. I need more guns in my gun porn please. Also Gadgets feel a bit light missing all the rockets, launchers, spotters,(S)U(C)AVs

Is the download really slow for anyone else? I've been trying to download it off and on for the last two days and it's only at 35%.

Is it only Origin/Hardline that slow for you?

It went as fast as downloads usually go for me. If it uses P2P maybe a way to turn that off?

I really enjoyed Heist with goons, though it may have been the goonstack. Also the ability to sabotage any usable map feature is great.

I'm sure they're competent enough to use this as a hacker honeypot. I mean I hope.

Fair fight seems to be working overtime banning something every couple seconds.

i didnt want to talk out of my rear end and mention punkbuster since i was hoping they had moved away from that, but lmao at using punkbuster in 2015

You could just stop posting?

Anyways punkbuster seems to still be around because someone at EA invested in it and wants to keep it alive. Fair Fight seems competent enough and pb is just useless as always. Kicks for arbitrary reasons and is just annoying

no im pretty sure they haven't, but companies are cracking down on that poo poo lately so it could definitely happen
If you are talking about the UniSoft thing that was only because that batch was bought using stolen credit cards. So it's a roll of the :dice: but as long as the key you bought was bought by a legal Russian method it should work fine

I like Hotwire, I think it will work great once we have more weapons and gadgets and the meta involves so it isn't just using trip mines at intersections all the time. I enjoy being able to drive a vehicle around the map, even if there is no action, and be playing the objective and helping my team. And if I really want action I can start taunting the enemy team with my car by running them over. I see repairing from inside vehicles being the first big fuss once the game comes out. You can out-repair any small-arms fire.

I think Conquest works a bit better on these new maps, but I still generally don't like it. Maybe it's because there's no MRAP this time around, but I found the fighting just as stale as BF4. It helps that there are no unkillable tanks or jets that just trash your day, though. But a lot of the same problems of back capping and the fighting centering around one point are still here.

Dust Bowl is not a good map. It can be, but currently it isn't. Apparently the reason there isn't more destruction is a performance one. Which seems absurd as the map showcases nothing crazier than bigger maps with more destruction. It just breaks the illusion when your RPG only applies a burnt decal on the side of a motel or trailer home. They need to add bullet penetration badly. There's a moving truck at the center of Dust Bowl with its back open so you can hide inside of it. There was a whole enemy squad in there and I was in the armored van in the gunner position. This massive gun firing at like 1,000 RPM at the side of the truck and not a single bullet can get through? Come the gently caress on. My bullets shouldn't be stopped by loving sheet metal. Add bullet penetration to everything that isn't thick-rear end concrete and we'll be less whiny about the lack of destruction. You can even have different penetration values per weapon class to avoid wall-hacking snipers just headshotting you through walls.

Overall I think it's fun, it's a nice change of theme from modern military. But I feel just as bored of it already as I was of Battlefield 4, and I don't know why. Maybe if I give it more time, who knows. I'll probably be pressured into buying this to have something to play with the CTS goons.

Some small arms do much more damage then others and assuming a competent short can out damage repairs. It seems the Scar-H was one of those. Also repairing in vehicles is very important to not being ruined immediately by helos.

With the buff to snipers I find the larger map and static points of conquest to make it rather annoying in hardline maybe when it's not on dust bowl it will be better.

Penetration should really be in this game especially for pickups like the lmgs and what not
