its all for an in game trading card system. you get all these cards with different rarities and then you make football teams using the players that you own cards for

the higher the rarity the higher the stats the players have

Goog says the crucials are bad because they don't handle things correctly when your labtop battery runs out. So they should be fine on a desktop or if you religiously plug in your compy.
