Doctor Whose posted:Was Max Payne 3 good? I've come close to buying it a couple of times on Steam but figured it was a bad cash in of the franchise. It's the best third person shooter released in a long time (or ever). Some people didn't like the story but I thought it was great, with a really fantastic performance from Max himself. And yeah as far as the physics goes it's still the best version of the Euphoria engine when it comes to blasting people with assorted weaponry. FILHO DA PUTA

The game really seems to me (and others before me) like it started out as a bunch of game developers making some really pretty CGI cutscene, showing it to Sony, then tacking on the rest of the story and some gameplay. I'm not saying they're doing anything new or that the quality of the game (which sounds pretty bad) will be justified, I just think that Sony spent too much money on a 6 hour shooter with MGS4-length cutscenes.
