I'm really into this retarded concept for a game. DBZ game devs fully embracing bullshit 'uh yea my character was made when Future Trunks wanted a best friend to fight time demons with so he wished on the dragon balls for the coolest fighter ever to be bros with him but then the time demons got mad so they made Cell and Buu and everyone else into super strong extra evil versions because my character was too strong for the normal versions...' I have 3 important questions though. 1) Can I make a midget Saiyan? 2) Does Frieza race include being able to make Captain Ginyu? 3) Is the mentor system that deep or is it basically a spec choice? Like, if wanna bro out with Hercule is it just a thing where every few levels he says 'here's my special dick punch' or is there like, training and poo poo that is different for them? I like that this game is 'deep' enough to make poo poo like a female Saiyan handle differently than a male Buu so I hope that weird level of detail is a common thread.

Fuckin sold then. This is legitimately an informative thread, I heard next to nothing about this game aside from general 'haha it's fanfic made real' jokes and some basic 'yea a DBZ game where I make my own hero sounds cool' but this is the first source of actual information I've seen that wasn't just videos of a dude scrolling through armor selections.

Yea I'd be super into it if next year they just did like SF4 does and release what amounts to an upgraded version of this game with a better roster and junk. Plus it'd also mean cheaper buying for those of us with the game on our account already, win win I'd think. But of course I'm a nerd on the internet not the CFO of Namco Bandai so hosed if I know.

Yea I've never like, felt 'hype' for a DBZ game. I've played plenty of DBZ games and thought 'this is a good game' and had fun, but I've never done some poo poo like preorder a loving dragon ball game. Dragon Ball Z games are good, guys, I'm scared, hold me.

Obviously it's the same game no matter what but do the different races have much difference in, say, side quests, intro, etc? Like, will my ~game experience~ when I make a Saiyan be different than one when I make a Majin or does it come down to how the characters themselves play?

Yea the game isn't perfect, there's flaws obviously, but if you're a DBZ fan this is basically one big love letter to the series done quite well. If you're the kind of person that hears 'you can take your OC saiyan warrior and fight Cell because Gohan can't handle Super Evil Cell Mode' and goes 'nifty', it's worth buying.

Hot tip for those not realizing Majin is the good route, if you pick the jaw that's always smirking and wear those shades you get from the world tournament parallel quest you look like you never give any fucks about the timeline in cutscenes.

I'm loving the game but I hate the Ginyu saga, playing as Captain Ginyu is rear end and then the 'get your body back' mission is beating my rear end. Good thing Vagetia is my bro and taught me his faster Kamehameha move, it helps me keep that rear end in a top hat Ginyu/Goku back away from me.
