Problem description: Recently the ram in my laptop has started failing. I ran several tests to confirm that was indeed the problem. My issue is which ram stick will be compatible with my laptop. A relative of mine heard of my woes and decided to order me 2 sticks from newegg to allievate this problem because he is a nice guy like that. I did some googling to find replacement sticks and came across Crucial's website. I ran their system scanner to see which modules were compatible. Below is the RAM type and model suggested by their scanner. http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/pavilion-g6-%28intel-ddr3%29/CT5306114 Before I had a chance to pass this link over to my relative, he had ordered the bundle below from newegg. He had already asked for the make and model of my machine and is pretty hardware savvy. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820191523 Crucial Link: http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/ct2kit51264bf160b#productDetails My concern is, these are also made by Crucial but were not listed on their site for my machine after running the scan. From everything I can tell by looking at the specs they are identical. If they are not going to work, I need to know as soon as possible because my laptop is very important in my line of work. Attempted fixes: None, just looking for the correct RAM, dude. Recent changes: Nothing Operating system: Windows 7 x64 Home Premium System specs: HP Pavilion g6-1d38dx Notebook PC Intel Core i3-2350 4GB DDR3 RAM Intel HD3000 Integrated GPU Location: USA I have Googled and read the FAQ: Yes EDIT: Used template from sticky, sorry. They could be using a generic image. Also, even if they were different in some way it's not like there's only one exact kind of RAM that's compatible.
