^^^^ You didn't miss anything. I watched the first three weeks and it was basically them being completely unable to figure out what they were actually trying to do. There was a Mad Magazine comic about the XFL that summed it up nicely, but I can't find it. It was something along the lines of five cameras per player, including the cable-cam and a steadi-cam guy on the field.
