The original script involved cyborg dinosaurs with guns some years back. I guess that evolved into genetic engineering. I'm not sure which would have been worse but at least the image of a T-Rex with rocket launchers is a million times more hilarious than turning Jurassic Park into the Umbrella Corporation.
