The Indians extended Cy Young winner Corey Kluber, and the Royals extended young phenom Yordano Ventura. One day all these early extensions are going to backfire in a team's face, cost certainty be damned. The Yankees will be just mediocre enough to achieve another above .500 season and continue that streak to like 23 straight years. Fortunately mediocrity is a key component to earning a wild card spot so maybe they'll make the playoffs. Probably not though.

I am very excited for the basing of balls to count. Can someone post the "when you can start caring about stats" table that showed how many of X (plate appearances, IPs, etc.) were needed before you could start trying to make any real sense of them? I thought I had it bookmarked, but I can't find it. Also, gently caress the Cardinals.
