My father (lifelong Royals fan) was back home in KC for Easter because his mother is 93 and not exactly doing well. He was thinking of taking her to Opening Day as a way to possibly spend one last great day outdoors with her before she gets called by the One Great Scorer. Problem is, the cheapest pair of tickets was going for something like $1,500 for two seats in the Hy-Vee sections. So he's watching it on the Extra Innings preview and having her on Skype in the background.

fknlo posted:Opening day is always a pretty hot ticket. After last year I figured the ticket prices would be dumb, but not that dumb. I didn't even check them. Wherever you go Opening Day can have stupid prices (I mean, we live in St Louis now and unless I get tickets for free the closest I'll likely ever be for OD at Busch is Paddy O's/Ballpark Village/the casino because it's always that bad) but reaching your first October in 29 years can do things like that to the market.
