If you started downloading GTA V on an original Hayes Smartmodem at 300 baud when the modem was introduced in 1981, assuming no errors and a continuous download - a kid born today would still be able to drink legally before your download completed. Makes u think

a good compression algorithm would work wonders on the morbidly obese people who shovel in food like a locomotive hungry for coal. assuming a fat person from an opulent 17th century victorian family would even consider nowaday's diet of industrial lubricants to be food is questionable. an amiga could run wolfenstein 3d, but fat people typically overcomplicate matters by resorting to self-medicating a perceived "void" with food. there's the dilemma that, if you would consider an empty vessel such as a boat famed for its buoyancy which desires cargo, the fat individual who eats because they feel unloved actually is like a boat with a leak. now the fulfillment is only temporary as the anus jettisons matter on a basis consistent with the material which enters in through the mouth and descends through the esophagus to make its alimentary voyage. fat people really need a better diet with soluable fiber and jesus to experience lasting fulfillment

300 baud does not neatly convert to bytes, as baud is the number of symbols the modem can download per second, so it depends on what symbol encoding method you are using. However, if you apply this to modern ASCII, you get 3.2 MB per day. The GTA 5 download is about 61 GB. This means it would take 53.444 years to download GTA 5 on a 300 baud modem.

DId you take into account that this would likely need some form of packet handling for overhead? I mean, sure Xmodem/CRC|YModem would have been astounding at the time, but kermit has been around since like '81 so.... yeah.
