The Global Dome is split 50/50 here.

One half is applauding Mikeala... the other half is making noise attempting to warn her!

Margrethe wasn't as 'laid out' as she first appeared (at this point, "The breaker of spirits" should be renamed "Lady Terminator"), as the woman has begun dragging herself towards the door of the cage. The ref recognized this and unlatched it, opening the door as Mikeala and Takeo are both down from Mikeala's impressive brainbuster.

Margrethe makes it to the door, slides under the ropes and begins to slither down the steps with her hand touching the floor when Mikeala, with an impressive show of agility, leaps halfway across the ring to grab Margrethe's leg. Remember, Margrethe's hands doesn't matter, HER FEET has to touch the floor.

Out of desperation, Margrethe begin to lash kicks at Mikeala's face and head, in an attempt to force the woman to let her go, but even IF you ignore the hatred here, there is too much at stake. Mikeala suceeds in dragging Margrethe back into the cage and now Margrethe latches her self on the door to prevent further headway.

Then, Mikeala makes a tactical error... she reaches past the ropes to grab Margrethes hair. Everyone sees it coming...

*CLANG!*

Shifting her momentum so that Mikeal was now over and past her, Margrethe slams the door onto Mikeala's exposed head and face. This causes the other woman to spring backwards towards the center of the ring, rolling on her stomach.

quote:

considering that this is a memorable sequince, I'm going to roll +Heat.

Escape sequince with Mikeala (+Heat): 2d6+4 15

+2 Momentum bringing me to +4

Now, to be fair (and this should be cool since I still have control) I'm rolling Violence, since Margrethe DID slam the door in Makeala's face. Thus, since things can go wrong here, I don't want to deprive myself of bad luck. :p

Slamming the door in Mikeala's face! (-1 Real): 2d6-1 3

...see what I mean? :p

So, considering that Margrethe has respect for Mikeala, she hesitates on slamming the door, throwing off the timing of it and making it look quite fake!

+1 Momemntum AND Control to Mikeala; -1 Momentum AND -1 Audience to Margrethe.

Ouch. :p

Margrethe's reluctance to hurt Mikaela is clearly perceived by the live audience and by the TV audience, because of an untimely close-up of the wrestlers! What should we think of the Mikaela/Margrethe feud now? Are they still bitter enemies? Has their unexpected alliance in this match somehow placated the intense enmity they felt for each other? Margrethe's shoot hesitation will have kayfabe consequences on wrestling news sites tomorrow!

Nevertheless, the audience roars, and the refs circle the cage, vying for the best view of the brutality. It's at this point you guys get the go-home – apparently the presence of Mr. Honda tonight is no coincidence, because Takeo is scheduled to win this battle!

---

Margrethe, you are free to use the Heel Move to steal the win through treachery – but since Takeo is also a heel, he can cheat as well and steal the win back, if he so chooses. I'm gonna say that, if it comes to this, the result stands. No point in an endless cycle of heel moves.

The ref closes the door. Margarethe yells at him for doing so, but she spent so much energy battling Mikaela she didn't notice Takeo pulling himself onto his feet! He grabs her, spins around and deposits her on the floor with a backbreaker! He goes to climb the cage, getting about halfway up before both MIkaela and Margarethe start up after him.

Honda reaches the top of the cage and straddles it, but Margarethe is soon up after him. Mikaela finds herself right beneath, and grabs at Takeo's feet, but he stomps her on the head and loosens her grip. Flailing for a handhold, she grabs Margarethe's boot instead. Takeo takes advantage of Wolfram's distraction and pushes her down. She and Mikaela go tumbling right off the cage and onto the mat! With one more look at his father, Takeo prepares to take the victory that is his birthright. He puts both legs over the outside, and drops to the floor.

The match is over and a bloodied, shell shocked Margrethe Wolfram is now kneeling in the middle of the ring in disbelief as the bell rings and Takeo Honda walks away the victor. The new #1 contender to the title!

For the last month, Margrethe Wolfram has been bragging/ranting that she was distined for the title. There was no backdoor for her. Yet, here she was on the outside looking in. It was awesome story development and psycology, as the fans and television audience are glued to the ring, riveted as to the reaction of the Breaker of Spirits.

They are not disapointed.

((And it's here that I pay my +2 momentum... to lay out Makeala!!!))

Makeala was recovering behind Margerethe, her back to the woman, so she never saw it coming. The perverbial it, of course, being the dreaded Blitzkreig! Arms locked in and dragged to the mat, Makeala is helpless as Margrethe really stretches her out, a look of madness on her face that, with the crimson mask she is already wearing, makes her look like a complete psycho! This is a dangerous situation here, as the referees and security struggles to unlock the cage door (it was latched shut since Takeo climbed out of the cage), and by the time the manage to storm the cage, Makeala is uncouncious. The referees have a time breaking the hold off but eventually the mini army of security manages to do so, forcing the screaming banshee that is Margrethe Wolfram out of the cage while signalling EMT's to enter the ring.

As the cameras get a close up of Margrethe getting escrted out of the ring, it catches some of her rantings breifly:

"...degraded my reputation! That <bleep!> degraded my reputation!"

Then she is forced up the ramp an backstage.

((And boom. So yeah, requesting an interview segment before the end of the show. If Takeo wants the honor of an post match interview to seal the deal of him cracking the Main Event, I'll gladly do mines before his since it would make sense for him to close out the show.))

Mikaela does the best she can to sell for the rest of the match. She got in her stuff, and was happy that it wasn't a total mess. Even the cage spot wasn't awful, even if she knew she could take the hit. Still, with both losing the match and the post-match beating, there was enough time to get some very good violent-looking wrestling in, and both women end up looking like an absolute bloody mess to put the thing over.

Ended match with +4 Heat with Margrethe, Audience to +3.

After Margrethe is done with the beatdown, Mikaela gets up on her own power but plays up the beatdown by leaning on one of the security guys as she walks past the crowd, blood on her face and looking like she just took a beating. She just wanted to focus on the one thing in front of her. Primly probably wants in on this camera shot, so Mikaela switches to leaning on him to play up the still fighting.

Can't work the Audience, end of the show anyways.

There's a thundering chorus of booing and noise as Takeo lands on the floor outside the cage and the bell rings victory. The camera focuses on the box, where Lady Lagervale, Rita Rai, and Kenshomaru Honda are politely clapping to celebrate the victor. It's even possible to maybe interpret the latter's expression as stern approbation!

---

Primly makes a show of helping Mikaela physically walk out of the arena, but everything about his body language denotes that he is not consoling her for the loss. Mikaela is a true warrior who did her best! For once, too, his demeanor to the camera matches his personal feelings, which he's quietly relating to Mikaela as they climb up the ramp...

"Good job, girl, good job. That is going into your portfolio. I told you we were going places... this is just the start!"

The people lined along the ramp extend their arms to fist-bump, high-five and intensely touch Mikaela's shoulder. They're urging you on with respect and appreciation.

---

The screen switches to an energetic, freckled redhead holding a mic at ringside. He's striding as he talks, hurriedly trying to make his way through the crowd toward the retreating Honda.

"Wow! That was incredible! This is Stanley Rocky, directly from ringside, and as always I'm trying to get a post-match interview going. It's hard to break through this crowd of refs... Margrethe has done it again, folks at home! She just had to get those last shots in. And just when we were starting to think things between she and Mikaela were cooling down!"

The image bobs up and down as the cameraman tries to keep up with Stanley's pace.

"Look! Did you see what I see? Mr. Honda senior has just left Lady Lagervale's box! Did anyone catch his reaction to that ending? I just can't read that guy! Anyway, come on, come on, let's see if we're quick enough to catch Takeo Honda in the locker room! If we're lucky, we might get exclusive footage of a real samurai father-to-son talk... but wait!" Stanley stops dead to check his earpiece. "Something's come up! Oh, what is she up to now...?"

Margrethe, you've got the spotlight!

Camera cuts to a suit clad Tom Talker in another part of the Global Dome, the concecession area apparently, and we see fans all around! They are cheering as security is seemingly holding them back from something. We here crashing and scraping and ranting!

"Stanley, I'm sorry to interuppt as I'm sure the TWW faithful will love to hear a word from the new challenger to the title, but we have a situation here out in the concession stands..."

More crashing is heard and the camera follows it as we see Margrethe Wolfram, ranting and raving, flipping over hot dog carts, tossing trashcans all over the place as security is trying to calm her!

"As you can see, Margrethe has broken free of the security detail that was escorting her and she has been laying waste to the concession area for the last five minutes... and now she is coming this way... honestly, I'm not sure that I want to talk to her... Margrethe a word?"

Margrethe storms past Tom, more interested in a Pretzel cart that she tips over, the glass display shattering.

"Oh God, we definitely need more security out here... The fans are in legitimate danger here! Margrethe is known to have a hair trigger temper but I think she is beyond a temper tantrum, she is on a full lunatic fringe here, no doubt disapointed that Takeo outsmarted her and... WAIT! I didn't mean that! I didn't..."

Margrethe walks up to Tom and grabs him by the collar of his suit! "...what did you say!?"

"...I was just stating what happened moments ago..."

The camera focuses on Margrethe and her face, with dried blood and strands of her unkempt hair, she acually looks more evil then she did during the match. "What you saw, Tom, wasn't Takeo winning the match... what you saw, what shouldn't be ignored, what the true point of the matter, was the degredation of my reputation..."

"The degredation of your reputation?"

"Yes! Degraded my reputation, degraded my reputation, do you understand that, Mikeala degraded it... and I'll never forgive myself, it's the worst night of my life... that I allowed her... to do that... to me!"

Margrethe squats down of camera and the camera view lowers to keep her in view. Her face is now behind her gloved hands, both of them clenched, and sobbing is heard. Is she... is she crying?

"I was so close... I was so close! I've been drowning for so long and I tasted air, Tom, I tasted fresh oxygen... and then Mikeala just had to butt into my business again..."

"...but the fans here and at home have heard you take up her challenge!"

"...I know... It's my fault! It's my fault... I was so close and I allowed it... I allowed it! Goddamn Takeo is riding on my own drat destiny because my dumbass allowed it! That <bleep> pulling me off the cage like that! drat it... drat it all... drat IT ALL TO HELL!!!"

Margrethe grabs a near by trash can and chucks it in a random direction, and the camera follows it as it slams into a wall, emptying it's contents! Margrethe turns to the camera and there are tears... but her face is far from sorrowful. Her eyes are cold, her lips thined out in a frown, and her hair is sticking to her face, mixing black with the redness of dried blood.

"...let me tell you something right now Mikeala... I'm going to get you... I'm going to make you suffer, make you wish you were dead... and there will be no stopping me..."

She squats again, her fists balling up...

"...you know... In that cage, I didn't get a piece of her... I didn't get a piece of her! I hesitated with that door.. I showed mercy and look what happens..."

Her voice cracks and she stops talking, breathing heavily. Tom takes over. "A... a very emotional Margrethe Wolfram here, distraught over her loss..."

Margrethe interupts him as she stands up. "...I blame myself! I was so close, soclosesoclosesoclose..."

She covers her face, before stretching out her arms in frustration. "...that's it, no control... Mikeala, don't fool yourself into thinking next week will be business as usual, no... if me and you are in the same building and there is life in my body, there will be no chance in hell of you walking out! I'd dare say that I may be arrested for homicide! This isn't over this is just the beginning... you think you felt pain in there after the match? You ain't seen nothing yet... no control... no control..."

Tom hesitates as Margrethe turns sharply away from the camera. Soon security finally arrive (why are they always late!?) and the usher her away, Rita Rei at the forefront. This leaves Tom by himself.

"...the chronicles of the Wolfram-Winters war has many a chapter... but I have a feeling that a new one has just begun tonight. In the timespan of one cage match, we have seen the rise of a new challenger, and a dangerous escalation of one of TWW's oldest rivalries... and to think that those two used to be the closest of friends...

The trigger for Breaking Kayfabe is "exposing the legit truth on camera." It's up to you; are you revealing enough of the real world to the audience that it becomes noticeable? I could see it either way.

Anyhow, think of yourself as having a token worth 1 stipulation on a match you book yourself in the near future!

The camera cuts back to Stanley Rocky, who takes a second to compose himself. The man was wide-eyed, staring at the big screen, thoroughly nonplussed at Margrethe's outburst. So is the audience; it takes them a second to recover and remember to boo and cheer and cry out at Ms. Wolfram.

Stanley finally makes his way into the locker room, where he catches an unexpected scene! Takeo has just entered, only to find his father waiting for him, perfect posture in an impeccable suit. The two stand 10 feet apart, a bench between them. Mr. Honda makes no effort to approach his son.

"An impressive showing. Flashy, but impressive. But I will make myself once again clear in this subject. Only when there is a belt hanging from the wall of our family shrine, only then, will you have earned the honor of carrying our name. Second place... is not winning. Are we understood?"

Right about now, Memnon steps untimely into the locker room!

Kenshomaru Honda's body trembles slightly; together with his sudden pupil dilatation, they are the only sign of the shock and horror that are surging through him.

"Such petulance! Is this what passes for a wrestler these days?" Turning to his son: "Is this how you allow yourself to be treated? Mocked and pushed by your inferiors? Perhaps I was mistaken. Perhaps you do not have what it takes to come home with the belt."

Mr. Honda moves closer, and with their breath withheld the audience sees the man clearly for the first time... taller than Takeo, less muscular, even bony, but... infinitely menacing.

"Prove me wrong, and you shall come home as a Honda."

Takeo waits until his father leaves the room. The camera lingers on him while he smolders. And then, something inside the reserved, disciplined warrior breaks.

He takes a chair and throws it against the wall. Grabs a monitor and smashes it to the floor. With a series of terrifying screams he dismantles the locker room, picking up a heavy garbage can and throwing it against the lockers to smash them open , and tipping them to the floor. The camera fades as he screams to the heavens.

It has been one month since the last episode aired!

Tonight, hundreds thousands of eager viewers will tune in their TV and join the lucky live audience for the most anticipated pay-per-view wrestling show of the year, Transintercontinental World Wrestling: Around the Globaldome in 80 Minutes! This unforgettable event will pit Soaring Sifu, the reigning champion and holder of the Planetary Greatbelt, against dangerous newcomer Takeo Honda! His dramatic victory against the unlikely duo of Mikaela Winters and Margrethe Wolfram one month ago is still being talked about! There is no doubt on anyone's mind that he deserved his spot as Number One Challenger!
All the fan-favorites are going to be there, engaging in what critics are predicting will be the most memorable battles since 1987's Ultimate Panther vs. TNT Boy series!

Rumors are going around that Mikaela Winters and Margrethe Wolfram are finally going to face each other, one-on-one! Is it true?

El Dragón Fuego has been constantly impressing this company with his lawful attitude, and the fans love his wrestling! This is his golden opportunity! If he proves himself tonight, that will mean his breakthrough into the upper card!

The mighty Memnon has shown, over and over again, that he doesn't kid around when it comes to his native continent! It is confirmed: tonight's show is the last broadcast TICWW will do in Africa! Can a strong enough performance by the Ethiopian warrior save the show from being cancelled for his African fans?

The Lophophorate has been wreaking havoc in TICWW, gravely injuring no less than three wrestlers... can anyone stop his diabolical streak?

Another wrestler to shine this past month is Soaring Sifu himself! He has showcased some of the best performances of his career, dispatching powerful foes with his unique combination of kung fu and acrobatics! But will his martial arts mastery be enough against the sheer power and determination of soulless fighting machine Takeo Honda?

Stay tuned, folks! We'll find out... TONIGHT!

---

But, before we do...

What have you guys been up to this past month? What happened in the episodes between last month's cage match and tonight's PPV show? Did anything significant happen off-camera, too?

Each of you can:
Resolve any number of current feuds. Resolving a feud means resetting Heat to +1 and gaining one Advance. It also means the storyline between your characters reached some sort of closure; what was it? Did you have a match with a clean finish? Did they leave the promotion? Any other reason?
Feel free to use this opportunity to purge your character of loose ends. Any feud left over from this process is something that will come up in our PPV show!
Make a move representing your general attitude toward the camera for this past month. For instance, if you make the Feat of Strength move, you spent the month promoting how strong you are.

Memnon, your off-camera charisma and appeal are paying off; audiences love your infighting with Lady Hippolita! Please make the Over move going into the PPV show.

Takeo Honda considers his feud with Margarethe Wolfram to be over. In an interview segment the week after their legendary three way cage match, Takeo said, "She was in my way. She is not anymore. I respect the efforts of the old veteran to remain relevant in our organization, but I have proved that she is not on my level. I do not think of her anymore; I now only have one occupation."

My advance is I Am The Future: Takeo is now thoroughly convinced that he will lead TWW into a new age, and that will begin tonight when he takes the belt.

(Leaving things open with Mikaela for now- I don't know if she wants to resolve or not.)

Thinking about what move I'll make, if any...

Evil Mastermind
Apr 28, 2008

The only feuds Fuego really had were with Margarethe and The Lophophorate; I think the feud with Margarethe would be finished at this point. Fuego's coming into his own, and it's been without her help or advice. The feud with Fuego confronting Margarethe in the ring and telling her that she can't insult him or hold him back anymore; he's realized that she's jealous of the acceptance he gets from the fans and how management prefers to deal with me instead of her constant tantrums.

It's a combination of Fuego and Margarethe finally getting fed up with dealing with each other backstage (they've setted into a "cooly professional" relationship), as well as a way to allow Margarethe to focus on her feud with Mikaela.

So I'm going to resolve that feud, take an advance, and since this is the last episode I'm going to go all-or-nothing and take Enmáscarado. :getin:

quote:

ENMÁSCARADO: When your mask is at stake in a match, use this Move instead of your Finishing Move. Roll +Heat with your opponent. On a 10+, you keep your mask, and your legend grows. Gain +1 Audience. On a 7-9, you keep your mask, and pick how you lose the match: you are saved by someone else; you save yourself by fleeing the ring; you save yourself by using a weapon. On a botch, lose the match, and your mask. (This Move overrides Creative’s booking)

Over the past month, Fuego has also been working the audience more, building up more support from the fans and creating more demand to see him move up to the big leagues.

Work the Audience: 2d6+2=8; starting the episode with 1 Momentum.

So I have an idea here for Fuego/Honda/Mikeala in reference to Margrethe vs. Mikeala. Margrethe has a beef with Dragon. Honda has a Beef with Mikeala (I accept how he ended the fued with Margrethe, as it adds drama to my idea).

So here's what I propose (3 steps):

1. Honda goes against Mikeala. During the match, Margrethe walks out, but noone knows why, since there were rumours that she also took offense against Honda as well. In the end, however Margrethe sticks to her vows, interfering to cause Mikeala to lose, then herself and Honda jumps Mikeala, forcing Dragon to make the save. This could also end the Honda/Mikeala fued if desired

2. Dragon's prestated interview segment with Margrethe leads to a match between the two (btw, this match would net Margrethe a +1 Audience, since she is +4 Heat. That means +4 Audience! I don't mind having Memnon do the over move, as it makes fictional sense to do so, but Margrethe still gets an Advance. :)). This Match is a flag burning match, with the loser earning he right to burn their opponent's flag. Dragon puts an authentic Mexican flag on the line vs. Margrethe's Heart of Mexico Flag.

Fuego wins this match due to Mikeala distracting Margrethe, allowing Fuego to beat her cleanly (since I had Margrethe beat Fuego by underhanded tactics, I think it's fair to have Evil Mastermind narrate a highlight not only of him beating Margrethe but in the burning of her disrespectful flag as well). This ends the fued between Fuego and Margrethe. +1 Advance.

3. Margrethe faces Mikeala pre PPV (!!!). Elza comes to ringside to ensure Margrethe plays by the book... but the match ends in a no contest as (Paying 1 Advance), Elza turns heel and attacks Mikeala (Match ends in a double count out)! Elza is now Margrethe's enforcer! Also, this could lso be an ending of Elza and Margrethe's mini fued as well. But I feel that's a major stretch. Also, Cry, feel free to swap Elsa for someone else if you have a better creative idea.

The highlight of the match versus Margrethe came near the end: Fuego had been fighting harder than he ever had before with the honor of his country on the line.

But whatever Fuego could dish out, Margrethe could take. Both wrestlers refused to bow to the other, their backstage and on-camera feud finally coming to a very violent end. Margrethe almost won when she managed to suplex Fuego on the concrete outside the ring, and while the ref was distracted checking on him Margrethe managed to sneak a small keychain-blackjack into her hand. But before she could clock the already dizzy Fuego, Mikeala came out of the audience and jabbed Margrethe in the back of the head with Fuego's flagpole!

Mikeala melted back into the crowd when the ref finally turned to see what Margrethe was doing, but he completely missed the interference and the foreign object.

The brief respite was all Fuego needed to get his second wind back; strengthened by the crowd he took his confused opponent out via moonsault through the announcer's table, flinging her into the ring, and pinning for the three-count.

As the still-dazed Margrethe was led up the ramp, Fuego burned her mocking flag with his dragon's breath, and the last shot of the episode was Fuego standing on the turnbuckle waving the Mexican flag in triumph.

Fuego, that moonsault through the announcer's table? You hit it so beautifully, the clip is now part of TICWW's opening theme montage! That's the effect of your Working the Audience move, and that's where your extra Momentum at the start of the episode is coming from.

thejoshie posted:

I'm going to say these little highlights we're doing don't net Audience and Advances by themselves, sorry. They're mostly to spice out the feuds being resolved (from which you're gaining Advances anyway), and not real matches in game-mechanics terms.

I'm loving the Advances you guys are getting by the way! I'm totally fine with mask-betting, enforcer Elza, and overconfident Takeo :getin:

Mikaela challenged Takeo at the next show, not for a prize but just to get him to show what he was made of once more. Takeo took the challenge, looking like it was going to be a fair fight until Margrethe's interference. Since then, Takeo has been dealing with his title fight, and Mikaela's been more interested in Margrethe and her feud there.

Taking Excellence of Execution for the advance

After Elza turned on her as well, Mikaela went on a series of matches with everyone in the lockerroom, and the few matches she was allowed to, she would win cleanly over some of the mid-card talent with her same no-nonsense wrestling style, including even nearly pinning Margrethe before Elza put the stop to it in a tag match. Finally, a one on one match with no interference is in her sights, and she's not looking on stopping now.

Edit: As a move, not sure what to roll but decided on the Wrestling move as a base. Turns out, I could have picked nearly anything for a 10+.
Working Matches: 2d6+2 14
Apparently, she's been putting on a wrestling clinic in the ring.

I hope we both die.

On intervening installments of TWW, Takeo Honda has been on a backstage rampage, destroying property and attacking random wrestlers in seeming fits of insanity. Interviewers and officials have tried to talk to him, to no avail. Near the end of the last episode, a mysterious video aired. It shows Honda in close up against a dark background. His face is drenched in sweat and there is something ever so slightly off about the way he talks.

"My name... is Takeo Honda. In preparation for my championship match I have been shedding myself of the last vestiges of weakness, mercy, and compassion. When I arrive at Around the Globaldome, all that will be left is my will to destroy. I do this for my ancestors, for my father, and to prove wrong all those who have doubted me.

Soaring Sifu. You are a disgrace. You have been secure at the top for too long, playing the showman, begging the favor of those sad, pathetic faces in the audience. A warrior does not need their approval. You must learn to be a warrior again. I will give you your lesson, but it will cost you the belt you wear so proudly. And when you have surrendered it at last, the Age of Honda... will begin again."

Cutting A Promo, boss.

2d6+2 = 12! I will take +1 Momentum and +1 Heat with Soaring Sifu, in advance of our match tonight.

Mikaela, it has been a good month for you. You haven't got a superstar's fanbase, but you have become the darling of the reviewers and commenters who know their wrestling; for those who care about technique, you are the rising star to watch out for. You know this, and it gives you confidence!

Since we're using the Wrestling Move as a base, your result nets you +2 Momentum to start the episode with!

Takeo, that promo goes viral! It's so visceral it's started to appear on wrestling video montages all over. It's what's going to cold open the pay-per-view show tonight!

We're just waiting on Memnon, now.

Memnon has spent the past month as a very busy man, both in and out of the ring. Appearing on television all over Africa, Memnon has made it his mission to drum up support for TICWW and unrest against Lady Lagervale and management. In the ring he has done much to stoke the fires, parading around a stuffed cartoon dingo replica with Dingo's jacket on it, the toy's tongue lolling stupidly from its mouth. At every opportunity possible, he asks the dingo questions and shakes his head, pretending that the toy has just said something stupid.

Out of the ring, Memnon runs the circuit from country to country, appearing on talk shows all over Africa, trying to play up his status as the most popular wrestler from his continent and his new gimmick as Africa's Favorite Son. The African Union emblazoned jacket is ever-present in these appearances, even when he is wearing a suit and tie to appear more professional he still arrives wearing the green coat.

It all culminates in the closing moments of his last match where - bloodied after a match with a surprisingly competent local talent - Memnon scores a defiant victory before grabbing the microphone and declaring that it is time for Lagervale to make her decision.

"I am Africa's favorite son - Memnon! I have fought, and bled. I have done this for you!" Memnon reaches for the audience, pleading his case to them as his chest heaves. "But management continues to play politics. Continues to assume that our African brothers don't matter. They're not important." Looking up at Lagervale's box, he continues, strutting around the ring like a peacock. "I just have one question for you, Lady Lagervale...Just one single question. Do you really want to lose the most exciting, dynamic, and dangerous wrestler that you have EVER seen in this ring?! Do you really want to lose the people's champion?! Africa's favorite son?! I will await your answer at Around the Globaldome. I will see all of you there," Memnon gestures in a grandiose fashion to the audience as he finishes. "I hope not for the last time."

Here's my over move. Over!: 2d6 5 Looks like management is pissed at me and will be punishing me with a low heat match or making me square off against a rookie to embarrass me. Oh boy.

What do you want me to roll for my other move from this latest rant?

Your antics, despite gaining you popularity with the fans, aren't doing much for your relationship with management – tensions are high backstage...

Your rant's totally Breaking Kayfabe, so please roll for that!

And the day has come! Around the Globaldome in 80 minutes goes live in a few moments. The arena's packed, with droves of latecomers still finding their seats. The smell of beer and snacks reaches all the way to the dressing rooms. If you're walking the backstage corridor of the Globaldome, you'll see administrative staff moving about in an anxious hurry, even more so than usual. The wrestlers aren't doing much better. One way or another, tonight's show is a turning point in all of your careers. Whatever happens, it shall be pivotal!

---

Memnon, you are hanging around backstage when Rita Rai strides past you, on her way to the arena, where she'll open the show in just a few minutes. She acknowledges you with the barest of greetings. This woman has always stood up for you whenever possible, but your recent real-world disaffection with TICWW has made her cold, and distant. Perhaps these few seconds before tonight's show starts will be the last chance you have to avoid burning that bridge forever...

---

Mikaela, you find yourself talking to your manager, Giles Primly. He's sipping on his traditional pre-show coffee. It's very, very black.

"You know... I don't know if I told you this. Actually, I don't think I did. But since that cage match, girl, you have been on fire. Some inspiring performances. When Hipolita contacted me to rescue your popularity, I thought to myself, 'good luck, Giles! You've got yourself a handful.' But you know what? After tonight, I don't think you'll need me anymore. It's been fun being back in wrestling, girl. I guess what I'm trying to say is, thanks."

---

Fuego, it's from the corner of your eye, but you spot something. It's just a glimpse of someone walking into an elevator, but you're pretty sure... that's Alex Starr. The disturbingly talented but inexperienced indy kid that asked for your help getting into TICWW, and you refused. What the hell is he doing here?

Okay, what do you guys do?

Mikaela is going through her pre-show rituals, mainly making sure that she's well stretched and ready to go in case any big changes happen. She does double-check to make sure there's no cameras around before having the closest thing to a real conversation with Primley. "If I'll be honest for a second, I thought your minor, well-meaning condescending would get annoying. But I think it all worked out, in an Odd Couple sort of way. I do the wrestling, you do the talking, we're both happy."

She pauses mid-lunge, doing a few side-stretches while holding that pose. "Usually, before a match like this, I'd be trying to talk about what we'd wanna do in the match. But I think I've got this now. Helps that I've wrestled against her enough to know what sort of match she'd like to run. Keep it simple, don't try too many crazy moves, stick to the story. Not having to worry as much about public speaking has made this work a lot better."
