Relay.fm is a podcast network founded about a year ago by Stephen Hackett and Myke Hurley. Featuring a bunch of hosts who look like this, the shows are largely about technology and how it affects our lives, with a fair amount of discussion of creativity and creative people.

It's quietly grown to a respectable stable of shows, and with the recent additions, I think it can maybe get its own thread for discussion.

The Shows

Analog(ue) : A show about technology, but not so much about the tech itself as how we feel about technology. Or at least how the hosts feel - one's British (Hurley) and the other's American (Casey Liss), hence the title.

Bonanza! : Myke Hurley and Matt Alexander used to do a show called Bionic. It featured two guys talking about nothing in particular. Now they do a show called Bonanza!, which is two guys talking about nothing in particular.

Clockwise : Jason Snell & Dan Moren host a tech news show with a changing set of guests. This is a bit more structured, and always limited to 30 minutes, with each host introducing a single topic. Kind of like a McLaughlin group for tech (not sure if that's a flattering comparison or not).

Connected : A three-man panel discussion on tech news. I don't know much about it, other than that it's the only show featuring the co-founders.

Cortex : Myke Hurley picking the brain of the guy who explains geography on Youtube. This is a new show, and it seems like it's sort of about productivity instead of something like ...

Inquisitive : Myke Hurley picking the brain of different people each week.

Isometric : Video gaming news from the perspective of its hosts, who come from the development world, the journalism world, and the world of people who just like to play games.

Mac Power Users : A long-running show that recently switched to Relay (yes, after being at 5by5 but the show existed before then). This one is hosted by David Sparks and Katie Floyd, plus a guest; they talk about productivity, with a focus on using the Macintosh computer made by Apple.

Reconcilable Differences : Another new show: John Siracusa meets Merlin Mann. If you don't know who those people are, you'll probably need to listen to the entirety of Hypercritical, and then Roderick on the Line and/or Back to Work as a warm-up. (Or read a 50,000-word review of an operating system and delete all the mail in your inbox.)

Rocket : A geeky show about stereotypical geek culture and interests - tech, comic books, movies, etc. And the hosts are all women. (It'd be nice not to have to mention that, but it is kind of something that's noted about it.)

The Pen Addict : A show for people obsessed with stationery and pens. If you've been waiting your whole life for this show to exist, well, there it is. Isn't the internet great?

Upgrade : Myke Hurley & Jason Snell discuss technology news and gadgets -- mostly Apple, but other companies' products are in there too.

Virtual : Myke Hurley & Federico Viticci (the third guy on Connected) talk about gaming news, history, and culture.
