I have a bonsai tree on my desk at work and this little fellar showed up about a week ago. Today it started laying eggs. I'm pretty sure it's a stinkbug, which i dont think will eat the plant. Pretty much hoping my office becomes infested with stinkbugs. Bug needs a name

gay still chillin, no new eggs Are these eggs already fertilized or are they just going to dry out without another stink bug?

apparently these things hatch like 4-5 days after being laid, which means these things should be hathing right now. one of them looks a little weird but poo poo i cant tell what the gently caress will update again if anything interesting happens

I remembered there being 14 eggs, but now I only see 13, one of which looks pretty hosed up. not sure if it hatched or dried out or what. dont see any creepy crawlies other than stinky mama herself

Mama stinker is turning darker though. I'll see if I can get better pics so we can actually identify wtf this bug is, but I need to work first so I don't get fired and lose my bonsai buddy

here's mama stinker she does look much darker than she did before is she hosed? haha i mean she already is laying eggs so she got hosed, but is she dying or anything? she moves around the tree and seems happy enough This all started when my coworker saw the bug on my shoulder after I came in from outside and placed the bug at the base of the tree. I guess she likes it because she has been living on it for like two weeks now and hasn't tried to leave heres the tree, burger king crown for scale there are like half as many eggs now and no babby bugs in sight, not sure what happened the light is on from 9-6 m-f

update i cant find a single egg. they are all gone. i looked all around the tree, and it doesn't look like they fell or anything. i'd expect to at least see some egg casings right? regardless, assuming she can survive on this tree, i think she will try again. internet seemed to suggest they lay like 400 eggs over the course of the summer, and shes 14 eggs in on this plant, soo im expecting another batch if she can survive

I've found 4 scattered eggs that have fallen in between some of the leaves. They are still bright green and look just like before, but my googling made me think that they should hatch like 4-5 days after being pooped out by mama bug Not sure if they will hatch or not.

post your burial ceremony suggestions itt right now little gary is just upside down on my desk, untouched from the photo. i could put her at the bottom of the tree, or hide the carcass somewhere in the leaves to rot i cant really bury it since all the rocks at the base are glued together, unless i bury it outside my coworker that wanted to kill it has agreed to do a eulogy
