So those of you who answer questions over in the First Downies thread may know that after drunkenly watching the last SuperBowl til 3am over here in the UK, I've gotten pretty into the NFL and football as a whole. However being as I am from the UK, I have no geographical loyalty to any of the teams in the league and as such have run into a problem with my plans to closely follow football next year; I don't know who to support.

So I figured what better way to choose where my loyalties will lie than to ask the current fans of the franchises within the league? So what I would like from you guys is a sales pitch almost as to why your team is the team for me, a person who has watched one entire NFL game and played a lot of Madden this summer. What is it that sets your team apart? What are it's main selling points? Why do you follow the team that you follow?

So some of the questions I'd like to know about your team of choice include, but are not limited to:

Why do YOU support this team?

What are their best and worst apects?

What is your teams Front Office/Owner like? What sets them apart from the rest of the league?

Who is your teams biggest rival?

Who is your teams star player? What makes them worth watching?

Who is your favorite player on the team? Why?

Who is your teams worst player?

Who is your teams most promising player?

Which opposing player am I honor bound to wish death upon as a fan of this franchise?

If you could sum up your team in any one photo, what would it be?

What am I likely to see over the next season if I follow your side?

Feel free to add any other information you might think relevant too. This should be an interesting read and a big help to me, a person who apparently is devoid of their own convictions or ability to make a decision for themselves! Otherwise I'll just revert to my original plan of launching a dart at a map of the US and supporting the closest team.

Thanks guys,

I support the titans because I'm a dumbass but maybe one day they may be good again.

What are their best and worst apects?

Best: they are really young and have dick lebeau and ray horton coaching the defense

Worst: they are really young and whisenhunt is the head coach

What is your teams Front Office/Owner like? What sets them apart from the rest of the league?

Since Bud Adams died, his family are the ones who own it. They may or may not sell it and I can't say there is anything particular special about the front office.

Who is your teams biggest rival?

Jacksonville Jaguars

Who is your teams star player? What makes them worth watching?

Jurrell Casey is the only star player as of right now. He is worth watching because he is able to be make a huge impact despite having no help last year.

Who is your favorite player on the team? Why?

Jurrell Casey because watching him wreck offensive lines is such a joy

Who is your teams worst player?

Byron Bell

Who is your teams most promising player?

Hopefully Marcus Mariota but out of non rookies Avery Williamson. Williamson was a rookie last year who took advantage of all the injuries last year by establishing himself as a nfl level starter talent who will hopefully keep improving.

Which opposing player am I honor bound to wish death upon as a fan of this franchise?

I'm more of a college guy, but I'll give you my current rooting interest gladly.

THE OAKLAND RAIDERS

Why do YOU support this team?

As a college fan, I generally just choose a few NFL teams over the course of a year or two to root for (the ones I like most out of the contenders, then usually an underdog). Right now, I'm rooting pretty hard for the Raiders. They're a cool team. Cool uniforms, cool history, cool theme song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVugVQsjyaI Plus, they just drafted my favorite college player (Amari Cooper, more on him in a bit).

What are their best and worst apects?

The best aspects: well, they haven't had that many bright spots for a while. There's no decided advantage this team has over others, and it's been a long time since this team has won any considerable amount of games. But imo they're about to come due.

What is your teams Front Office/Owner like? What sets them apart from the rest of the league?

Okay, this goes under "reasons this team owns" which very few teams can say about their owners. Mark Davis is Al Davis's retarded son, but I mean that in the best way. Despite having more money than God, he shows up to games in matching sweaters/sweatpants, and the girls at the local Hooters apparently know him on a first name basis. Also, with all his money, this is how he chooses to wear his hair:

He owns.

His partner in crime is GM Reggie McKenzie. Reggie is a 70s porno producer/the black version of Ron Pearlman.

He owns.

Who is your teams biggest rival?

The Broncos. Unfortunately, their chances to beat Peyton Manning in this millenium are quickly dwindling.

Who is your teams star player? What makes them worth watching?

The best players from 2014 were probably Derek Carr and Khalil Mack. Both were rookies, whose statlines weren't as impressive as what they managed to accomplish with what they had to work with. They appear to be leaders, enthusiastic and ready to lead the Raiders to brighter times.

Mack (LB): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2R6z2cYZDZ4
Carr (QB): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCFHmPq40qA

Who is your favorite player on the team? Why?

Amari Cooper was the best player in college football last year. And he was on my team. He has no off the field issues, and is something like a born again robot built to make touchdowns. Along with a completely revamped unit at WR and TE (from arguably the worst receiving corps last year to one of the most exciting), he's expected to help Carr go from an plucky underdog to a franchise quarterback. He might be able to do it by himself.

What am I likely to see over the next season if I follow your side?

Close games. That's the real goal this year. There are still too many holes this year, particularly on defense, for this team to go all the way. But they've got the pieces to surprise people and steal a few, despite their brutal schedule. Much better players everywhere but the secondary. A new coach in Jack del Rio that seems to have the culture he wants. Teams can no longer sleep on the Raiders unless they want to become part of the story of how the comeback began, and really, that's the kind of story you're watching football for right?

TIME IS THE FIRE IN WHICH WE BURN THE GAME CLOCK
Hello! Welcome to the football fandom! I think you should cheer for the Kansas City Chiefs! Let me explain:

Why do YOU support this team?
Because I was born in the Kansas City metropolitan area and, even though I've moved, I still love my Chiefs. They are also fairly Just, especially in comparison with other teams in the league. The worst thing a current player has done is get a DUI, which is unfortunate but not even in the same ballpark as teams like the Ravens or Steelers. In the past, they have had some bad dudes on the team, but those days are past us now!

What are their best and worst apects?
Well, we have a very loyal fandom! It's not as big as some others, but Chiefs fans are super loyal and typically are for decades. The worst aspect of the team is, well, probably our most important player. We have one of the worst starting quarterbacks in the league. I detail quite a bit of Alex Smith's failing here in the first two posts of this thread: http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3717792 The gist of it is that he is terrible and cannot throw the ball long enough to be considered an actual threat against defenses. We also traded two second round picks and gave him a contract for $45 million guaranteed.

What is your teams Front Office/Owner like? What sets them apart from the rest of the league?
We have a relatively new general manger by the name of John Dorsey. His past two offseasons have been decent to good but his first was pretty terrible. He wasted the first overall pick on a bad left tackle and did the aforementioned Alex Smith trade. I hope he gets wise and separates himself and his legacy from those bad players.

Who is your teams biggest rival?
I personally despise several teams but, as a fandom, we Chiefs fans hate the Oakland Raiders and the Denver Broncos with equal fury. They are full of evildoers and scum and they should be treated as such. John Elway (an ex-Bronco quarterback who is now a player personnel official with the team) is one of the most evil people in the league and thus our fight against him is pretty much the final battle in The Lord of the Rings. The Raiders are similarly evil, but they're also very very bad so no one pays much attention to them. The Raiders are among the teams rumored to be moved, which would be good as it would destroy their fanbase!

Who is your teams star player? What makes them worth watching?
Seeing as how our QB is real bad, our main stars tend to be as far from the passing game as possible. Our main running back is a beautiful man named Jamaal Charles. He currently holds the record for highest average yards per carry IN HISTORY. He's real good at bailing out our bad QB too with his catching ability. Here's some clips: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=neppOv3zvfE. Another great Chiefs player just recently signed a massive deal worth $101 million dollars total! Justin Houston is a young linebacker who may very well be the best in the league at his position! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukVAqMD20sw He led the league in sacks (quarterback tackles behind the line of scrimmage) last year so he's worth every cent imo!

Who is your favorite player on the team? Why?
Pretty much either man I listed above. They are both fantastic to watch! We also have a good young tight end in Travis Kelce and a suprisingly good nose tackle by the name of Dontari Poe. Both are cool dudes who are good!

Who is your teams worst player?
Alex Smith. Eric Fisher is a mediocre left tackle selected way too early, but he causes nowhere the amount of disappointment as Smith does.

Who is your teams most promising player?
Houston has a wonderful career ahead of him and we also have some wonderful younger players as well. De'Anthony Thomas is a nifty little guy who can run, catch and field punts! Knile Davis had a rough college career but has pulled off a solid career as Charles' back up. This year, we also drafted Marcus Peters, who looks to have a good career as a cornerback ahead of him!

Which opposing player am I honor bound to wish death upon as a fan of this franchise?
Never be friendly towards any Raiders or Broncos. Wishing death isn't very nice, but you can still dislike those two teams as much as you want!

If you could sum up your team in any one photo, what would it be?

RED SEA BABY
What am I likely to see over the next season if I follow your side?
Me yelling at our QB and us having a rough season! We are currently facing the toughest schedule out of anyone this year! It's going to be tough, but I think we can manage eight wins!

If for some reason you do pick the Chiefs please know that most of us aren't like Parm. Also Alex Smith (the QB) is...sort of okish? Definitely not great, but we've seen worse recently. Also Arrowhead is currently the loudest outdoor stadium in the NFL--they've gone back and forth with the Seahawks on the noise record the last couple of years. It's pretty cool and unless the broadcast sucks for some reason you can kind of pick up on TV how crazy it is.

Kansas City Chiefs

Why do YOU support this team?

I grew up in southwest Missouri and everyone I knew was a Chiefs fan. I remember sitting around with army buddies hiding out in the cooks cage on Sunday afternoons while shirking all responsibilities to watch the games. The coach and GM are both newish, but excellent, and the players seem to love being here.

One example is Dwayne Bowe, who was cut this off season, returned to town to attend the funeral of a woman who was a die hard fan. He even had a picture of him interacting with her on game day.

What are their best and worst apects?

Best: getting more and more talented. The defense is a thing of beauty and only getting better.

Worst: Andy Reid (our coach) is an excellent game planner. He is like 14-1 coming off a bye. The problem is that when a plan isn't working, he still will rarely change it. He is also terrible at managing the clock.

What is your teams Front Office/Owner like? What sets them apart from the rest of the league?

Our FO has an excellent eye for talent and developed his strategies for creating a sustainable, homegrown team while working in Green Bay. They make smart deals and haven't broken the bank on any players they shouldn't have. (except maybe Dwayne Bowe, which has since been corrected)

Our owner is Clark Hunt, you may have heard of his father, Lamar Hunt, who helped found the AFL, named the Super Bowl, and generally did everything he could to piss off Al Davis.

Who is your teams biggest rival?

Historically, the Raiders. Recently, we hate the Broncos about as much, and their fan base possibly even more.

Who is your teams star player? What makes them worth watching?

We don't have just one star. Jamaal Charles is the bees knees for reasons Parmesan Basil already mentioned. On defense, we have Justin Houston who is replacing some aging LBs as the star, although our NT Dontari Poe is incredibly athletic for a 350 lb man and plays like 97% of snaps, in addition to lining up at FB on goal line downs and punching other defensive linemen in the mouth.

Also, De'Anthony Thomas is a gadget player who is stupid fast and will have a larger impact this season.

Who is your favorite player on the team? Why?

Tamba Hali. He is an excellent team player, lifelong Chief, fled from war torn Africa as a kid, and a great leader. He also took a paycut to come back and help take the team all the way this year.

Who is your teams worst player?

Pick an O-lineman. We will see if an actual full of season will help Fisher, and if we actually have a center. If the O-line starts playing well then I'd have to reassess.

Who is your teams most promising player?

Depends in the situation. I think Alex Smith can still be the guy we saw put up 4 touchdowns and like 350 Yards with no first stringers on the field, but I know that's not a popular opinion.

Which opposing player am I honor bound to wish death upon as a fan of this franchise?

Peyton Manning. I can't wait until his neck falls off and the Broncos mortgaged the franchise for one failed super bowl run.

If you could sum up your team in any one photo, what would it be?

What am I likely to see over the next season if I follow your side?

An 11-5 season and a trip to the playoffs. Hopefully this is the year that we break the 20+ year drought on playoff wins. Hopefully. We have the pieces to win it all, but the stars would need to align correctly for us to get past the loving Colts.

You should also know that Parmesan Basil has a gimmicks about good and just stuff and hating Alex Smith. Some fans think Smith isn't the answer, but I can assure you that Parm's analysis is the extreme and a minority opinion.

Chicago Bears Are Terrible and Dumb and I Hope They Move to The Other Side of the Earth

Why do YOU support this team?

Because William "The Refrigerator" Perry is a cool football player. He was a defensive lineman who scored touchdowns. Also, it is important to be on the front lines of the War Against The Packers, the most important social conflict of the twenty-first century. If you come out of this and support the Packers, you should probably just buy a plane ticket to the remotest part of the world and wait there for a wild animal to eat you. Also, if you support the Bears.

What are their best and worst aspects?

The Bears are a terrible football team owned by a group of moronic legacy kids who have no idea how to run a football team. They historically have had one of the worst quarterback situations in the history of football, interchangeably going through journeymen, jabronis, chumps, and Rex Grossman. Instead, the Bears were forced to Bears their way to wins with special teams and defense. The 2001 Bears team quarterbacked by Jim Miller and Shane Matthews, are the Bearsiest team in history, winning two games in a row with Mike Brown interception touchdowns in overtime. The second Bearsiest team of all time is the 2005 Bears, which started a Rookie Kyle Orton who threw the ball into the ground. The greatest Bears accomplishment was making the Super Bowl with Rex Grossman at quarterback.

Now the Bears have had an ok offense and don't play defense anymore, and Jay Cutler is the mediocre, over-paid rear end in a top hat quarterback who is universally despised. The Bears are bad and will win maybe four games this year. Matt Forte is cool.

What is your teams Front Office/Owner like? What sets them apart from the rest of the league?

The Bears ownership are the incompetent grandchildren of George Halas. There is a new, young hotshot GM and new coaching staff this year, but it doesn't matter because they suck. I mean, listen to this rear end in a top hat introduce Ditka:
http://www.chicagobears.com/multimedia/videos/Ditka-number-retirement-ceremony/89448dca-be3a-4984-aeb3-d9aefca26a64

Who is your teams biggest rival?

The Bears don't have a rival. The Packers are ostensibly their rival, but calling Bears-Packers a rivalry is like calling humans vs. the grim inevitability of death a rivalry. For as long as the Bears have started the Grossmen, Ortons, Millers, Moses Morenos, and Peter Tom Willises of the world the Packers will always have a hall-of-fame quarterback. This has been going on for more than 20 years. The Packers are to football what the Soviet Union was to Joe McCarthy's fevered whiskey-dreams. I don't even root for the Bears anymore, I just want the Packers to have a lovely quarterback once.

Who is your teams star player? What makes them worth watching?

The Bears have no star players. They are not worth watching. The Bears are a snuff film of Jay Cutler getting brutally sacked. The only reason to watch them is to see if maybe some mustache guy in the stands is carted away for alcohol poisoning.

Who is your favorite player on the team? Why?

The Bears have gotten rid of my favorite defensive players Lance Briggs and Charles "Peanut" Tillman, who was known for literally punching balls out of people's hands and is one of my favorite Bears of all time. The two decent players on the team are wide receiver Alshon Jeffrey and running back Matt Forte.

My favorite player on the team is Jay Cutler because gently caress you that's why. Jay doesn't give a poo poo. Also, this is the backup quarterback:

Who is your teams worst player?

Probably Jay Cutler.

Who is your teams most promising player?

They are completely and utterly hosed. Cornerback Kyle Fuller had a decent run as a rookie, Alshon is a huge beast WR, and Kyle Long is a good guard. That's right, one of the best players is a loving guard. Goddamn it.

Which opposing player am I honor bound to wish death upon as a fan of this franchise?

Aaron Rodgers wants you to wish death upon him because superbowl-winning MVP Aaron Rodgers has a :siren:CHIP ON HIS SHOULDER:siren: about not getting drafted high enough in the first round and the time some guy on TV called him short and pretty much any time anyone didn't say Aaron Rodgers was the best at something and that's what fuels him and he probably keeps a notebook of every single time an announcer has criticized him but that won't ever happen because no one has anything bad to say about Aaron Rodgers because he is the best quarterback in football and seems like a nice enough fellow and 99% of the things I hate about him are dumb post-hoc justifications because he has lost to my team like three times in the last decade and oh my god gently caress this stupid guy I mean we had like 20 years of Favre won't someone take some goddamn mercy on us jesus christ.

If you could sum up your team in any one photo, what would it be?

What am I likely to see over the next season if I follow your side?

A lot of times when the Bears lose and everyone is miserable and the one fun part when the Bears are embarrassed on television and people call into the crazy old guys Bears radio show and rant in dumb Chicago accents won't happen anymore because the guy died.

Aw hunny, these came out GREAT!
Why do YOU support this team?

My team is the San Diego Chargers. I have been a fan all my life because of my parents and grandparents, and also close geographic proximity. I grew up in Palm Springs, part of the California Desert located about two hours east of San Diego.

What are their best and worst apects?

Best Aspect: They are fun to watch. You could say this about any team with a good quarterback, but the Chargers play a brand of visually pleasing football. It's efficient and good. They will score a bunch of points. They rarely get blown out.

Worst Aspect: They will most likely give up a bunch of points as well and have this incredibly frustrating habit of playing extremely close, heart-attack inducing games. They don't blow anyone out either.

What is your teams Front Office/Owner like? What sets them apart from the rest of the league?

The Chargers are owned by the Spanos family, who bought the team for 40 million dollars in the mid 80s. Longtime owner Alex Spanos has stepped aside because of Alzheimers, and his son Dean has run the team for most of the last two decades. Recently, he's turned control over the team to his two sons John Spanos and AG Spanos. They are fairly handsoff owners, meaning they hire football people and let them run football operations. Two years ago the team decided to part with long term GM AJ Smith and hired a young first time GM in Tom Telesco. Results in his first two years have been mostly positive.

Who is your teams biggest rival?

Depends. If you ask a Chargers fan over the age of 35, they'll say the Raiders. If you ask a Chargers fan under 35, they'll say the Broncos. We hate them both.

Who is your teams star player? What makes them worth watching?

Philip Rivers. He is the quarterback and leader of the team, and it's not even really close. He's the best quarterback that the team has ever had, and it's been his team since the offense transitioned from a running-based attack in the mid 00s to what it is now, an offense based around Philip's arm. He's fiery, outspoken, and passionate. This has led to a lot of people disliking him because they don't like how amped up he gets on the field, but to the majority of Chargers fans, he's our guy and we'll live and die with him.

Who is your favorite player on the team? Why?

Philip Rivers, for the reasons stated above.

Who is your teams worst player?

Johnnie Troutman. He's a guard. He's bad. He lets Rivers get hit.

Who is your teams most promising player?

At this point, probably Melvin Gordon. He's a rookie Running Back who hasn't played a snap yet, but was a first round pick this past spring and is coming in to replace Ryan Mathews, who all in all, was a disappointment after the glory of the LaDainian Tomlinson era. I personally hated the pick, but if Gordon is good, this team has a real shot to contend.

Which opposing player am I honor bound to wish death upon as a fan of this franchise?

Peyton Manning. gently caress that guy.

If you could sum up your team in any one photo, what would it be?]

What am I likely to see over the next season if I follow your side?

Why do YOU support this team?
I grew up in Wisconsin and started noticing sports (i.e. I have memories of being a wee cheesehead) during the Cardiac Pack and Majik Man era. Then we got Favre.

What are their best and worst aspects?
Best: Have been pretty good to amazing for the past 20 years. Only a couple of down seasons mixed in there. Also Aaron Rodgers.
Worst: Prior to last season the team was constantly hurt. Inside linebacker play sans Clay Matthews and Barrington has been really bad.

What is your teams Front Office/Owner like? What sets them apart from the rest of the league?
Among the best in the league. Ted Thompson is terrific at finding value picks in the later rounds particularly with the team picking past number 20 consistently. Also this is one of the best teams for developing undrafted free agents and giving them meaningful playing time. The president of the team really doesn't seem to do anything too flashy to get anyone's attention. Many Packers fans own stock in the team that's ultimately worthless, but it helped pay for stadium improvements.

Who is your teams biggest rival?
The Chicago Bears. The oldest and best rivalry in the NFL. We've been kicking their asses lately though and soon the series wins will be tied up.

Who is your teams star player? What makes them worth watching?
Aaron Rodgers, the league's reigning MVP.

What makes him worth watching?

Just poo poo like this

Aaron Rodgers owns.

Who is your favorite player on the team? Why?
Randall Cobb, one of the best slot receivers in the NFL

 :kimchi: :stwoon: :kimchi:

Also this was his first game. He returned a punt for a touchdown and looked cool as hell doing it.

Who is your teams worst player?
In terms of current starters probably TE Andrew Quarless, but he'll be backup to Richard Rodgers soon. Formerly AJ Hawk and Brad Jones.

Who is your teams most promising player?
Ha Ha Clinton-Dix was thrown into a shitshow of a secondary and performed pretty dang well. He needs to clean up his tackling a bit, but he really showed promise in the NFCCG where he got two picks. He also broke up a pass intended for Gronk when they played the Patriots during the regular season, saving a touchdown.

Which opposing player am I honor bound to wish death upon as a fan of this franchise?
Tom "Cheater" Brady because this should be the response for every team.

If you could sum up your team in any one photo, what would it be?

What am I likely to see over the next season if I follow your side?
Probably winning the division, probably a 1 or 2 seed, probably an early exit in the playoffs because of boneheaded plays that weren't a problem during the regular season.

Why do YOU support this team?

John F. Kennedy posted:

But why, some say, the Lions? Why choose this as our team? And they may well ask why climb the highest mountain? Why, 35 years ago, fly the Atlantic? Why does Rice play Texas?

We choose to cheer for the Lions. We choose to cheer for the Lions in this life and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard.

Also, because my parents chose to move to Detroit rather than Cleveland, which meant that I was screwed regardless.

What are their best and worst aspects?

The colors are nice. They've had the Best Running Back in NFL History and the Best Wide Receiver in the NFL on their roster. They're not an Avatar of Entropy like the Falcons.

On the other hand, they hold all the records you don't want to hold and have only one playoff victory since the Eisenhower administration. They won zero games in 2008. :suicide:

What is your team's Front Office/Owner like? What sets them apart from the rest of the league?

The previous owner, William Clay Ford, is rumored to have been given the Lions by his family so he wouldn't ruin the company. His ownership began on the day of the Kennedy assassination. In the same year the Lions went 0-16, Ford Motor Company was the only member of the Big Three that didn't need to be bailed out, so perhaps there's some truth to that story.

WCF died last year, so now his widow Martha is the owner. In her first year as owner the Lions made the playoffs and exceeded 10 wins for only the fourth time in the 75 years of the franchise (:cripes:), so she seems to be an improvement.

The previous GM, Matt Millen, is literally the worst GM in NFL history. His continued presence on TV is all the evidence you need against the existence of fairness, meritocracy, God, etc.

The current GM, Martin Mayhew, was Millen's assistant but is much better than his mentor. He is an adequate GM with a very, very good 2013 draft and decent free agent signings.

Fun Fact: The Lions are the only team with a black GM and a black head coach, which is actually a really positive thing for the city of Detroit.

Said head coach is Jim Caldwell, infamous for his temper and sideline outbursts.

Who is your team's biggest rival?

Allegedly the Packers/Bears, but really themselves.

Who is your team's star player? What makes them worth watching?

Calvin Johnson, a.k.a. MEGATRON, is the best wide receiver in the NFL. He holds the all-time record for receiving yards in a season and the most receiving yards ever in a single non-overtime game. He does this.

Note that the Lions lost that game.

Matthew Stafford, a.k.a. OPTIMUS NINE nobody calls him that, is the strongest-armed, ballsiest quarterback in the NFL. He's great at leading comeback victories, and also great at putting his team in situations where a comeback is required. Still, you have to respect a man who sneaks back onto the field with a separated shoulder to throw a game-winning touchdown pass, and who fakes a spike to jump over his own offensive line to win the game.

Who is your favorite player on the team? Why?

DeAndre Levy, the division's best linebacker with a magnificent beard who is great against the run and pass.

I also love our sexy defensive coordinator Teryl Austin, who is a genius. He will be gone next year, as these things tend to go.

Who is your team's worst player?

It was center Dominic Raiola, who persisted on the team for 14 seasons, but he's finally retired, so now it's probably wide receiver/returner Jeremy Ross.

Who is your team's most promising player?

Darius Slay, the 2013 second-round cornerback. Perhaps the Curse of the Second Round is finally waning.

Which opposing player am I honor-bound to wish death upon as a fan of this franchise?

Aaron Rodgers, quarterback of the NFL's Branch Davidians.

If you could sum up your team in any one photo, what would it be?

What am I likely to see over the next season if I follow your side?

Some spectacular catches, maddening coaching decisions, creative defense, and wasted efforts. But there's honestly no better time to be a Lions fan.

Do you hate quarterbacks? If so the Arizona Cardinals is the team for you! We are poised to set another record for negative yards gained. Do you want to watch an entire team destroyed in this most miserable way because of awful QB play, then this is the team for you!

I did a huge write up, phone restarted for update and lost it so will try second time on my phone. But effort has been zapped so short post.

Why do YOU support this team?
American friends years ago got me into NFL and supported detroit. Discovered big fan base in UK supporting Detroit to so never watching a game alone. They also visit UK every year. I got my ticket for Wembley in November!

Who is your teams biggest rival?

Green Bay Packers, they have annoying dumb cheese hats

Who is your teams star player? What makes them worth watching?

If you could sum up your team in any one photo, what would it be?

The best detroit write up already done (Cruel and Unusual!! :D)So will leave just a few questions answered short but sweet.

i'm danish so i was in a similar situation ~15 years ago when i randomly watched my first game of football.

i ended up a packers fan. mostly because of brett favre who is still the funnest player to watch i've ever seen, but also because of the team's long history, the fact that it isn't owned by a billionaire, the fact that it's in a town half as big as my own, and a lot of other fun dumb facts. i got lucky with my choice because they've been more or less awesome the whole time and i got to see a superbowl win, and they're good enough to win one or more in the next 5 or 6 years so this isn't a bad jumping on point.

my real advice though is to just watch football for a while. watch a lot of games for a few seasons, watch all the teams in different matchups. you'll eventually find a team in some organic and personal way. maybe you like their jerseys, maybe you like their qb, maybe you'll end up with stockholm syndrome for a bad team. you'll find a team, possibly for a dumb reason, but it will be your reason and your team and you will support them forever and ever.

I feel like the Vikings are the team to pick right now. Lots of cool young stars. Good looking uni and new stadium. Football's coolest head coach and overall a rising team with a history of pain.

The Skins suck and will suck for years to come because of their lovely owner and their name should be changed.

The perfect team for anyone who claims to be self loathing.

You should be a New York Football Giants fan. Or not, whatever.

Why do YOU support this team?
Family inheritance.

What are their best and worst aspects?
Best: occasionally make insanely improbable runs to the super bowl

Worst: Doom and despair are the general feelings provided they don't make an insanely improbable run to the super bowl

What is your teams Front Office/Owner like? What sets them apart from the rest of the league?
The Maras are one of the oldest, most respected ownership families in the league. This means they wield too much power and can strong-arm other owners and teams at times. Once conspired to make make collusion legal for a year and punished any teams that didn't play along. Kate and Rooney Mara came from them though so I guess it's not all bad.

The front office appears to be competent. Not the best, not terrible. That's about all I can say about it.

Who is your teams biggest rival?
The Philadelphia Eagles. Both teams are quite old so this rivalry has a lot of history. The fans despise each other. Eagle fans (like all Philly sports fans) are the devil (present company excepted)

Who is your teams star player? What makes them worth watching?
Eli Manning has 2 super bowl rings and is pretty decent. Has a knack for the big comeback. Works very well in high pressure situations. Helped create one of the best plays in Super Bowl history. Ignore Joe Buck's monotone:

Odell Beckham JR is maybe the most exciting player in the entire league to watch right now.

Who is your favorite player on the team? Why?
It's Odell Beckham JR. Here's the reason:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxbz3DDQzHU

Who is your teams worst player?
Probably someone on the offensive line. They seem to rotate who is the worst from year to year. We have some contenders in the linebacker corps too.

Who is your teams most promising player?
Odell Beckham. Did what he did as a rookie and while injured.

Which opposing player am I honor bound to wish death upon as a fan of this franchise?
Probably Desean Jackson. He was a nightmare when he was on the Eagles and now is being a nightmare on Washington.

If you could sum up your team in any one photo, what would it be?

I love my big, doofy quarterback

What am I likely to see over the next season if I follow your side?
Probably solid mediocrity. They were bad last year. Like really really bad. And really really hurt. They should be better this year, but it would probably be a stretch to expect the playoffs. They are however just about due for another improbable super bowl run

If you like sick running backs, wide receivers running gadget QB plays, gingers, Samoans with magical clouds of hair, a schizophrenic coaching staff, and the best helmets in the league, you should root for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Edit: summing up the team in one image is easy.

I'm gonna do two of these because I'm a dirty rotten cheater who likes two teams.

First, my truest love, the Green Bay Packers.

Why do YOU support this team?
Because when I was in 5th grade, my math class had a student teacher who I really liked. At the end of the year, I watched him get drafted to the Green Bay Packers, where he played as a defensive leader for 8 years before having a sad last season with the Jaguars. Since I don't want to cheer for the Jaguars, I just stuck with the Pack, because Aaron Rodgers is a goddamn madman, and they have Thor on D.

What are their best and worst apects?
Best: High powered, crazy loving awesome offense and one of the best QBs in the nation.

Worst: Special Teams. Dear sweet Jesus.

What is your teams Front Office/Owner like? What sets them apart from the rest of the league?
Communists, basically. It's owned by a bunch of fans who own shares in the team, so if you really like them, you can go one step further and actually own a piece of the team itself. It's pretty cool! (and totally not worthless shut up shut up shut up)

Who is your teams biggest rival?
The Bears rivalry has been touched on already, but the Vikings are my personal most hated team. gently caress those purple Favre-killing assholes, I hope we beat them as bad as ADP beat his kid.

Who is your teams star player? What makes them worth watching?
I cannot stress enough how cool Aaron Rodgers is. He can effortlessly make the most precise throws and make it look like he's just warming up. He is Football Jesus. Also, Eddie Lacy is a human bowling ball and is finally a run option scary enough to make offenses question dropping everyone on the field back.

Who is your favorite player on the team? Why?
Aside from Aaron Rodgers, I love Micah Hyde. He's a dynamic kick returner, a ball hawk, and a former Iowa Hawkeye.

Who is your teams worst player?
Without AJ Hawk, who was less "bad" than "inexplicably loved", there's no outright bad players on the team. Though, every running back that isn't Eddie Lacy scares me.

Who is your teams most promising player?
Brett Hundley, who could very well be Aaron Rodgers 2.0. He's a UCLA QB picked up to learn behind a great QB for a few years until they have to prove themselves.

Which opposing player am I honor bound to wish death upon as a fan of this franchise?
I hope Colin Kaepernick falls down a very long well and breaks his legs, because no matter how bad he's getting, he still has an inexplicable ability to run roughshod over the Pack.

If you could sum up your team in any one photo, what would it be?
This football themed "Where's Waldo":

What am I likely to see over the next season if I follow your side?
Wins. Crying Bears fans. Aaron Rodgers laying on the ground a little too long and everyone making GBS threads themselves in fear. Yet another division championship. A loss to the loving Seahawks in the playoffs, probably with a few boneheaded moves along the way.

And now, a very one dimensional take on the only team I actually have a jersey of (for reasons that will become apparent very shortly), The Carolina Cam Newtons Panthers

Why do YOU support this team?

What are their best and worst apects?
Best:

Worst:
Anything that isn't Cam Newton

What is your teams Front Office/Owner like? What sets them apart from the rest of the league?
Jerry Richardson is a rich rear end in a top hat, gently caress him.

Who is your teams biggest rival?
Saints and Falcons, especially the Saints. gently caress the Saints.

Who is your teams star player? What makes them worth watching?

Who is your favorite player on the team? Why?

Who is your teams worst player?
The offensive line. All of them, as a collective.

Who is your teams most promising player?

Which opposing player am I honor bound to wish death upon as a fan of this franchise?
Drew Brees. gently caress his conservative, Jimmy Johns-owning face.

If you could sum up your team in any one photo, what would it be?

What am I likely to see over the next season if I follow your side?
God willing, a lot of this,
