So NPR does a story last week on the furry convention in Pittsburgh, and they use this photo from a couple of years ago: I don't know much about furries, but I notice almost all of them are either foxes or wolves. Why is that? Are those just the only...suits?...available, or do they all insist on being loving foxes? You really have to look carefully to pick out the non-wolf/non-fox costumes. Oh hey look, there's a dog. How did a dog get in? Hey you, get out of here, we only allow wolves and foxes. This thing is for furries, dog.

It seemed there was a majority of wolves & foxes, but there was wide variety of critters. I decided I'm an otter but don't have the skills and $$$ to build a full otter suit. The parade is something that must be seen to be believed. Furries in wheelchairs, aliens, dinosaurs, and the San Diego chicken. The was some kind of bird stalking me around the merch floor. Quite unsettling. I need to learn how screen grab off my phone. I took a look at Grindr and every face was some kind of animal. Definite sensation of reality crumbling under my feet then.
