I don't think that his family had a problem with the rigor of America's curriculum but if they did, Qatar isn't the place to move to. Except the man who is accredited with coming up with algebra was Persian, while the first use of zero was in modern day India. Qatar is farther south and is known for slave labor and the country has among the highest rates of obesity, diabetes and genetic disorders in the world. It officially supports the Arab Spring so maybe Ahmed Mohamed will see how to make a REAL clock.
