Yeah, gently caress that. Big corporations have no place in weed. Who gives a poo poo if legalization takes longer? A small price to pay to keep the bloodsuckers away.

Counterpoint: I like being able to buy weed legally and (more importantly) grow my own.

Also, it's generally good for people who urgently need it medically to, you know, not have to risk breaking the law for it.

Legalize it now then revise the law later.

I wonder what the odds are that Issue 3 could be a stepping stone to a less monopolistic version of legalization.

Probably about the same as Obamacare leading to single payer I'd guess.

Considering you can only grow up to 4 in Oregon and it's still illegal to home-grow in Washington, I don't see how this is compelling.

Probably. Lots of people I know seem to always have it, but I never know how top find a source. I didn't get really into weed until I was in my late 20's.

Nah I dont want legalized marijuana, instead of 15 dollars for pot it would be 20 dollars and people I dont like would be getting the money. Also I could only grow four plants instead of digging up my yard and just having a field of dreams. I think I'll reject this proposal and keep weed illegal and commit crimes which I will never get in trouble for but black people will, all the time.

This was a referendum by "the people" though, not anything the state did.

e: this method of writing specific properties into the constitution was how casinos were legalized a few years ago. I suppose they used that as a blueprint of sorts.

It's really tempting, I will laugh my rear end off if both pass. I don't usually try to be an rear end in a top hat (really) but it's such a perfect opportunity to piss off the maximum number of people and leave them hanging.

And who knows, the courts might even make a sensible decision at the end of it all.

Well yeah, they won't get huge budgets for fancy toys like FLIR cameras anymore, they won't be able to confiscate someone's house and car because they found a bag of weed and they can't use the "I SMELL WEED" excuse for justifying unnecessary and illegal searches anymore.
