Lovejoy just keeps crosschecking people behind the net and keeps getting away with it. He'd better stop that soon, he's gonna get caught.

As much as I'd like to see Sprong play more, Plotnikov-Cullen-Fehr seems like a pretty good grinding line and they seem to spend a lot of time in the offensive zone.

Sprong's 18 so whatever. If you want to play him 9 minutes a game on the fourth line, cool. If you want to send him down and let him play 18 a game in the minors, cool. But don't loving scratch him and let him rot.

Our forward depth doesn't really necessitate him here and given the way the team has been playing he's not likely to pick up any great habits just watching. That said if one of our top 9 got hurt that's a different story.

He needs to see the game from up high and study it with one of the coaches... I'm cool with that.

There are very few guys on the Penguins who take the body. I mean I'm not all about ~grinding~ but finishing your checks is a thing and the Penguins hardly ever check anyone at all.

They just said "Borowiecki" and "second pairing" in the same sentence without the "East Coast Hockey League" qualifier. I see no actual effects of his supposed work ethic, he gives up on plays quicker than anyone else, gets slaughtered in the corners by everyone and has shown 0 improvement on any of his 'skills' in a period of several years.

I wonder if it would be worth it to send Sprong back to the juniors, and try and see if he can learn how to play left wing down there, what with the excess of depth the pens have at rw

Right at the end of the period there is the peewee league horseshit defensive system I've been bitching about--Avs guy carries the puck deep along the left boards, Lovejoy is on him, and Dumoulin comes rushing over to the other end of the ice to help Lovejoy double team the puck carrier. Crosby has to haul rear end back to cut off the passing lane Dumoulin left wide open. This isn't Dumoulin being a dumbass, THIS IS THE ACTUAL SYSTEM THEY PRACTICE. All they do in their own end is chase the puck chase the puck chase the puck--which incidentally is what about 27 other coaches preach at every practice NOT to do.

I'm sure someone's bound to get hurt before it gets to that point.

There's really no room for more RWs and it seems like a waste to keep him just to be injury insurance in the bottom six when LW has such a pressing need for more skilled players.
