I don't. I loved the original 6 (yes, all 6), watched them all constantly as a child and teenager (I was a very late bloomer/borderline autist), and collected all the figures, games, and various other trinkets, but now I'm just like, "Ah yes, I've been conditioned to get excited about all this stuff". Also know there will be plenty of inane JJ Abrams crap in the movie that completely fucks up the immersion, like things happening that defy physics, terrible dialogue written to mimic the iconic lines that we all know, and predictable emotional box checking scenes with very tired, very old actors who can barely feign interest. Watching this movie is gonna be like playing video games with your parents basically, an insidious blend of fun and obligation that reminds you that you're still expecting something satisfying to come from an embarrassingly contrived blast from the past.

Thing is, it's not that it's abrams exactly, it's that it's a ploy to make something that was good at the time good now, for an audience that refuses to move on. I feel stupid for expecting more meat off these old rear end bones. poo poo's embarrassing.

The worst part is that this movie is not going to be bad enough to hate, but it's not going to be good enough to love. It's going to be a moderately exciting, mostly forgettable experience like Jurassic World or the Star Trek movies. People will rant/rave about it for a month, and then promptly stop giving a poo poo until the next sequel comes out. Overall, it's going to be a movie of no actual importance made as a nostalgia based cash grab.

The only reason the original Star Wars were such a big deal is they looked awesome.. in the 70s. The acting and story and everything else was hella dumb but no one noticed because holy poo poo. Now that basically all movies are incredible looking, though, you need an actually good movie to get people's attention. Star Wars is not a good movie.

If you're irrationally excited about the new Star Wars don't worry, it'll pass, because Disney is about to drown the planet in Star Wars sequels and spinoffs for the next 15 years.
