You know, I honestly thought that they were going to have Oly try and warn Jon in an attempt to subvert the most obviously telegraphed expectations ever. But no.

I've never read the books but aren't the Sparrows a ton more nuanced in them? Like they are a populist movement among the peasant population who have been decimated by the War of the 5 Kings instead of just some hyper religious SS group that sprung out of loving nowhere?

Lol I forgot all about Littlefinger's little lecture where he encouraged her to try and manipulate Ramsey. And it looked like it was going to happen when Walda announced she was pregnant and Sansa immediately recognized how that threatened Ramsey's status. If I were on the opposing army and saw that Ramsey had flayed Roose I wouldn't be intimidated, I'd be relieved that the finest military commander in the North is now dead and his retard son is now leading his army.

How is this supposed to go over exactly?

Ramsey "hehe now you see how vicious I am now that I'm in charge!"

Personally I've been hoping that Ramsey gets killed by a White Walker and a bunch of wrights. It would be cool to see him encounter something that he can't in any way understand, that he can't in any way intimidate. Let him, for once, feel truly vulnerable and scared before he finally loving dies. It would also be appropriate from a thematic point of view, like the show is telling us "yeah you see this seemingly invincible villain that you've reviled for 3 years? He ain't poo poo, the real threat is finally here."

Who was it that popularized short individual seasons? Because I loving hate it. It made sense when LOST did it starting with Season 4 because 15 episodes a year is way more manageable than 24 when you have a serialized story. In fact I believe that 14-16 episode a season is the sweet spot for heavily plot based shows. But these 6-10 episode mini seasons that we are seeing more and more of are just loving retarded and a clear money grab.

No. After Season 3 the showrunners publicly announced that they would be ending the show after just 48 more episodes. The 48 episodes would be divided into three seasons of 16. Now, things did get a bit hosed up because of the writers strike causing Season 4 to have just 14 episodes. But Season 5 and 6 each added an episode to help compensate for that.

I'm doing a re watch of Season 1 right now since I haven't seen it since I first watched it a couple years back. I am really confused regarding Vary's motivations. He is overhead by Arya conspiring in the dungeon about how they are waiting for when the time is right for the Targayans to cross the Narrow Sea and return to conquer the 7 kingdoms. But in that same episode Varys tries to have Dani assassinated. And considering in Season 5 how Varys openly supports Dani, and makes it clear that he has all along, why the gently caress did he try and have killed? So were the writers at this point planning on eventually introducing fake-Aeagon? Because nothing about Varys in the show makes any sense at all.
