I accidentally shot one guy like once while a bunch of people were defending an extraction point, so I got tagged as rogue and killed.

So then I came back and followed the guy who killed me around until he got in a fight, ran in front of him to force him to become rogue, and then killed him.

That does make sense. I'm still confused though as to why a Military 416 has categorically worse stats than a Police M4 of the same level and colour.

I probably won't play the beta much more since I've done all the missions and grinding in a game where my progress is about to be wiped isn't very appealing, but the three of us should group up and knock out the starting missions together when the game is released. If we're actually communicating (I'll be sure to get my mic working by then) we should probably be able to immediately take the missions on hard.

bug, oversight, whatever, I hope they get it fixed by launch because I like my turret.

OTOH, I might decide to put points into security and use a 249 (or 240 if it ends up being in the game, lol at the idea of someone just humping a 240 like it's an LMG but I love when games let me do it anyway) as my main weapon.

I would really like it if suppressors are made to be useful outside of PVP. it's really disappointing to me that if enemies are "tied" to each other, killing one of them will not only alert the entire group to your presence even if it's an instant kill that's out of sight and earshot of the rest of them, but they'll also somehow know exactly where you are.

Well, everything is up in the air until the game's release, but:

Tom Clancy's The Division will have absolutely no microtransactions whatsoever, according to the game's creative director. "You cannot spend a little bit of money and fast-track to get better gear or pay to win or vanity items. We do not have that," Magnus Jansen told VG247 at a recent preview event. Did anyone ever play IOI's Kane and Lynch some ten years ago?

That game (rightfully) got a lot of poo poo when it came out because it just plain wasn't very well made. But the multiplayer was a lot of fun if you got past the game's flaws. In it, players would ostensibly team up to pull off some kind of heist, killing AI-controlled enemies and stealing loot before making their way to their extraction, which would be some kind of getaway vehicle that would make several brief stops on the map before disappearing for good, ending the match.

Everyone that got away would split their loot evenly, no matter how it was distributed. So if everyone in a four-man team got away with a million each, they'd each get a million. If one of them picked up all four million, they'd still each get a million.

Unless he turned traitor. any player, at any time, could turn on his comrades. If a player betrayed his team, he'd keep any loot he carried out for himself. There'd be a reward for killing a traitor, but if the remaining two players had enough loot between the two of them, they might decide to just let the traitor get away rather than risk trying to stop him.

Each match would be several rounds of this repeated. Players would have to work together, because the AI was no slouch, but only the player with the most money at the end of the match would win, so the farther along the match went the more you'd expect betrayals.

Pretty sure this idea isn't trademarked, so there's your DZ instances, Ubi.

settle down, there, it's pretty natural to evaluate an entry in a video game franchise in the context of video games. similarly it's natural to evaluate a game in 2016 in the context of the present day or even in the last decade; it's been nearly twenty years since Tom Clancy's name was associated with CEO simulators.

DPS ain't poo poo unless you're actually hitting them with each and every single bullet during that mag-dump.
That's why I liked the Black Market Uzi thing over the Tec-9s and Vectors. Yeah the Vector shoots a ton faster but unless you're point-blank, and even then, because the spread on the gun means you miss a third of the shots so you're not actually getting that 4+ DPS.
Also how the gently caress does Armour work and how much does the Enemy have? I know the Enemy Amour is the white tabs over their health but how much is that?

I used a vector for most of the beta and had no trouble getting good grouping on-target. when I found small groups of enemies in the street I would within about 5 metres and spray them and usually kill them all with the one burst before they could react. at mid-range I didn't have any trouble hitting enemies with rapid bursts.

I'd just scoot from cover to cover, whip out the SMG for mid range since the Uzi shot a bit slower it was easy to full-auto and still land every shot. Shotgun for up close.
One of the LMG's was like that too. DPS looked good but it has lovely massive recoil. While another type did less DPS from firing slower but still did same-ish actual damage per shot and the recoil wasn't super-trash. The AK assault rifles seemed to draw up and to the right where the M4 just kicked up.
If you have to tap-fire a high DPS gun, aren't you not getting that full DPS then?

Also the shield could get to some loving crazy levels of health if you stacked Electronics. :unsmigghh:

I'm strongly considering trying to get a 249 as my main weapon when the game comes out. More than enough firepower and control to gun down the stragglers you find out in the open when patrolling through the streets, but in an actually challenging fight like one of the main missions or DZ lairs I'd be able to easily suppress everyone thus allowing my teammates to get flanking shots or grenades on target.

Throughout most of the beta my setup has been an M1A with a suppressor as my primary, a thoroughly modded Vector as my secondary (extended mag, holo sight, laser assist, and muzzle brake), and a 1911 as my sidearm. Worked really well, I was able to kill most enemies with one or two shots from the M1A and it fired quickly enough to be able to inflict lots of damage on unaware groups before they could get to cover.

Did something change radically from the first game? Because while there was a lot of racism in that, it made sense in the context of the game, and it's not as if the Korean forces were depicted unfairly, they were acting in the game more or less how they actually act in real life, and in a hypothetical scenario where they have a lot more power than they do now I see no reason to think that would somehow effect reform on their behaviour.

And the best part is they tried to pass it off that THIS BACKSTORY IS BUILD ON REAL EVENTS AND REAL DATA SO THIS COULD ACTUALLY HAPPEN FOR REAL MAYBE!

There's no particular reason it couldn't. The backstory of Homefront isn't just "Korea inexplicably becomes a superpower and invades the United States". It involves a parallel series of events with American power stagnating while the events of the Cold War also go very differently in Asia; Korea is united while its neighbours, the PI and China, fragment and are gradually assimilated by an expansionist Korea. And after all that, it only manages an invasion of the US by kicking it off with a surprise nuclear strike.

That being said I don't think that this is an alternate history that's just as plausible as, say, the Cuban Missile Crisis erupting into nuclear war, or World War II in Europe ending early and the Nazis becoming an entrenched superpower, or anything like that. Just that you can make a case for any present day scenario being plausible if you go far enough back in history and change enough things, which the writers did.

I'm a student of international law specialising in strategic and security studies. That's not me saying, "this is my field of study so I'm right", just that this is my opinion based off more than just my gut feeling.

No that is literally the plot of the first one. The reason that the us stagnated is that Iran and Saudi Arabia nuke each other and drive oil prices sky high, then the US gets hit by Asian Bird Flu, and NK invades. Oh. I dunno why I remembered it differently. My bad.
