It's supposed to be chicken but it's just gross and I don't know why. It's got one carton of chicken stock, a spoonful of chicken boullion, a pretty big amount of mixed vegetables (corn/carrots/sweet peas/etc), a good handful of rice, chicken chunks, fresh garlic with red pepper flakes and habanero pepper spice in it. If you have any chicken stock left just drink it

throw in a couple of potatoes, maybe that will fix it. If it doesn't add some lentils, by which point it will be a congealed lump so you can just gently place it in the garbage

try maybe ladling out a good deal of broth and replacing it with water? It will be less flavorful but edible. Next time don't add bouillon to stock without tasting the stock first. Or at least assume that store-bought stock will be adequately or oversalted already.

Methanar posted:definitely what happened. How salty? You could dilute it and add more chicken and vegies if it's not too bad. You could add cream. Your big problem if it was a quick soup is that most of the flavour is coming from the stock/bouillon and not from simmered chicken and vegies.

Friend once had a misprint in a recipe for risotto, said to add 24 stock cubes, instead of 2-4. Claimed she thought it was a bit much and only put in 16. No one asked for more.

You hosed up, son. Soup is easy and you should feel ashamed. That said, go get good soup so you can cry your unflavored tears into it.

If you keep adding salt, eventually it'll start to precipitate out and you can just scoop it off the top.

Try some lemon juice. I used bouillon instead of broth in a recipe once and wasn't paying attention and added the salt it called for as well, so it was super, super salty. Adding lemon juice to individual bowls saved it.

did you slow cook it? a lot of newer slow cookers cook too hot and it can absolutely gently caress up your dishes if you don't account for it you also maybe didn't saute your vegetables when you should have, which can absolutely gently caress up a long-cooking soup or stew incorporating onions by making it pungent and sulfurous

You gotta follow recipes until you know what you're doing. For instance no recipe would call for both stock and bouillon. You have like triple chicken and double salt.
