Mr Abbott addresses the joint partyroom in Canberra, defends his lovely economic policy and demands further budget savings. Take him out to the paddock Mr Speaker, his time has expired.

I had the pleasure of meeting Adam Bandt today at a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new Men's Shed facility where I volunteer. It was really empowering and refreshing to have a short conversation with him about the work I've been doing over the past couple of years. There were numerous other members of parliament present and it was quite daunting speaking with everyone as the only social worker running the program apart from my boss. It was a great morning and wasn't something I'd ever experienced, especially with all of the great donations and pledges made by the present members of parliament and various organisations.

Jesus some of the engagement with imbeciles and overall lovely posting in these past few pages has been complete normality sadly.. In some real news of a different twist, the war in Syria has seen some of the most peaceful times over the last 28 hours, the most peaceful during the ceasefire and also the most calm that many regions have seen in the last 5 years. http://syria.liveuamap.com/ Here is a resource which indicates global activities of many definitions from most regions of the world, it shows the relative peace that is transpiring throughout Syria, in ceasefire terms. Though it may look like chaos if you're not informed of the situation on the ground, normally the nation is alight with symbols of destruction and death each and every day. On a lighter note DickSmiths has started finally introducing proper sales and price reductions on their products. I picked up a bunch of cables including HDMI's and a converter for over 50% off. This was in Melbourne at Moonee Ponds but it seems they are finally reducing prices besides the 10% off poo poo. I don't know anymore.

You run into an arsehole throughout your day, and you probably just ran into an arsehole. If you find people are constantly being arseholes or hostile towards you, chances are that you are the arsehole, and people merely reflect the negativity put in front of them. But whatever, humans are terrified of looking inward to solve their problems or answer their questions.

Cleretic posted:Do you have details on this? I'm not sure how much good a rally will do on this, but gently caress if I'm gonna not be there to express my outrage at it. Sure Here is the Facebook event if you're a user - https://www.facebook.com/events/1139644442736811/ And here is the information regarding times and locations in case you aren't a Facebook user - Monday 6PM, State Library of Victoria, 328 Swanston Street. "No to the gutting of Safe Schools! No to restrictions on the program! Show the government that there is wide community support for Safe Schools. Meet at State Library at 6pm for speeches and a march to the corner of Flinders and Swanston Sts." Also I would expect that there will be a considerable turnout as there is a major rally and march being held on Sunday and these types of things tend to invigorate you to attend more such events. Which is a great thing, and I hope you do come to support the SSP on Monday for there aren't many feelings better than standing alongside thousands and sometimes tens of thousands of people with the same message as you. That is a remarkable feeling that shouldn't be underestimated, if you have the chance and ability to attend protests for anything worthwhile that you believe in, you should jump on the chance. Cleretic posted:I don't use Facebook, so thanks! Definitely, and the event on Sunday is the Palm Sunday Walk for Justice for Refugees. It is being held at the same place as Mondays rally which is the Victorian State Library, and it is scheduled to start at 2PM. Getting there a little earlier would be advised given the large turnout expected, just in case you need time to warm-up to a large crowd etc. I was going to describe the history and significance of this event, but I'd rather just copy the words from the Facebook page as they explain it much better than I could. I apologise for the length of this, but I feel this is something that should be reflected upon and to recognize the many organisations that support humane treatment of refugees against an abhorrently cruel and harsh Government. "Speakers include: Daniel Webb - Human Rights Law Centre Nazir Yousafi - Refugee & President Victorian Afghan Associations Network Senator Sarah Hanson Young – Australian Greens Interfaith Panel: Rabbi Jonathan Keren-Black - The Leo Baeck Centre, Mohamed Mohideen - Islamic Council of Victoria, Stuart McMillan, President Uniting Church, Lisa Fitzpatrick - State Secretary ANMF Pamela Curr - Asylum Seeker Resource Centre Musical performances by Dan Sultan, Melbourne Mass Gospel Choir, South of the River, Little Foot and Shaking The Tree (Dan Sultan will be performing at the end of the march in Queen Vic Gardens, half the speakers will also be at the end of the march). In 2014 nearly 10,000 attended the Palm Sunday rally. In 2015, 75 organisations endorsed the event and an estimated 15,000 people attended. We want the 2016 gathering to be bigger still. New Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has expressed 'concern' over abuses on Manus and Nauru, but has not made any policy changes. The Coalition government has flagged its intention to return 267 people including 72 children to Nauru. We want to Let Them Stay, we want to Close Manus and Nauru. Awesome work Cleretic!! I'm pretty sure it was you who was asking me for information about the snap rally/demonstration the other day. If I helped with your process of telling people who you are, I feel so loving happy and delighted for you, you have strength and do not forget that. It was a great show of force and compassion, and the last 30 hours of protesting in Melbourne have been truly invigorating. Over 20,000 people have protested for two very serious causes in Melbourne over the last two evenings, and it is always a truly great thing to be involved with.
