StoneOfShame posted:I really enjoyed Mad Max, I really did but not ad much as everyone else for some reason, I mean its been pushed as like the greatest action movie of recent years but for my money its nowhere near as good as Dredd was. On the subject of Dredd looks like the Snooper's charter is going to allow the police to hack phones!!! This government will implement the Judge system wont they. Dredd didn't manage to piss off MRAs as much as Mad Max did and is therefore the inferior film.

StoneOfShame posted:Wasn't that largely because the MRAs weren't as vocally active then, they've always been about but the noise they generate has shot up over the last year. I do remember there some MRAs getting pissed off about Dredd. I don't know, I was being tongue in cheek and couldn't be arsed finding the right emoticon to express that. I suspect that Tesseraction is correct though and Dredd came out before gamergate, IIRC.

Mad Max was great and The Force Awakens was great. I'm a huge Star Wars geek though so if you ask me to pick one I'll have to go with my nostalgia values.

Apparently the art of editing movies went out the window at some point, I'm not entirely sure when but I feel like I want to blame Peter Jackson & his Lord of the Ring films but I'm probably forgetting dozens of examples from the decade previous. Although they are a lesson on being concise next to The Hobbit trilogy. We've been over this. The Corries are Cool and Good.

I used to know a girl who escorted; apparently she'd only actually meet people two or three times a month and the bulk of her income was from selling stuff online (hair clumps, toenails, used underwear, etc). Made a bloody mint and all. And yes, I'm going to upload my papers onto a dropbox or something so I don't have to keep emailing people.

Interestingly this poll of Labour surging coincides with a Yougov poll putting Labour in Scotland behind even the Tories. ICM are distancing themselves from their own poll though. http://www.icmunlimited.com/media-centre/media-center/guardian-poll-march-2016 quote:However, the headline figures are somewhat misleading, and few should be in any doubt of ICM’s view of our own survey. Firstly, both the Conservative and Labour shares are affected by rounding, with the Conservative’s 36.4% being rounded down and Labour’s 35.6% being rounded up, thus creating parity. However, if only 1 or 2 people had fallen a different way on this poll, there would have at least been a 2-point Conservative lead.

My dad ran as a candidate for the local elections in the Swiss socialist party and my mother is a registered Democrat in the US voting for Bernie in the primaries. And lol if you think my two main activities (folk music and communism) are good ways to meet girls when the average age at any event related to those things is like 50. Is this just because I don't see joining a political party as some sort of lifelong commitment?
