People say that Native American headdresses are what started all of this. I think that the fact that Native American tribes have actual blood percentage tests that they conduct to prove whether you are "actually Navajo" for example is the most baffling thing. It sounds like a concept lovely white people sold 'em and now long after white people stopped caring, they keep it up. You need to have a certain percentage of native blood to get access to all the bennies. Cultural "appropriation" has ensured that Japanese culture exists well beyond the tiny island it was born in. It will likely continue to persist in various forms, as seen through various cultural lenses, for a thousand more years, whereas Navajo culture has all but been stamped out, even within the United States, and exists exclusively within the borders of the only state that actually still has strong tribal populations.

I have bone white skin and very course, curly black hair. I wash it almost every day but dont brush or comb it. It has been in locs since I was 16 and they are the pretty clean kind, thinner than a pencil and straight. My dad is a black Cherokee with Romani on his mother's side. I have never used oils, honey, mud, nothing, just 100% natural growth. In my 16 years of lockin' i've never had a single person tell me I was wrong or culturally appropriating, but I dont hang out with shut-in retards or SJW. I have had, literally, dozens of PoC tell me that I had the nicest locs they'd ever seen on a white man and that I was very lucky to have such clean hair. When i tell people it just grows this way they dont believe unless i show them pictures of my little kid fro. I believe cultural appropriation is the mutant spawn of political correctness and sensitivity politics & tone policing, and will move cultural/ethnic race relations backwards if we as a culture don't stop coddling brats. BLM is important, racial equality is important, cultural appropriation is totally loving bullshit.
