genesis was called meg drive in australia and illusion of giaia was called illusion of time whichw as also one of my favourite games as a child but i didnt own a super nintendo because my panets didntspend money on me for things like that even though i wanted a supper nintendo i didnt even ask fdor one or like cry about it but i really wanted one and i never got one because you could only play game on it and my parents thought that was a awaste of money and i still think about some times i could hire one from the video store but it wasnt a super nintendo it was a nes and i played mario brothers 3 a lot and i found lost of secrets but i couldnt use them because i was small mario and you needed to be big mario to break the blocks but i had this sensation of mystery and wonder that ive never experienced before or since and then i had to take the nes back i bet they could have picked one up for like $100 maybe even less but no we cant do that well gently caress YOU MUM AND DAD IM A BROKEN SHELL OF A MAN AND ITS YOURE FAULT

they had to call Bully on PS2 'Canis Canem Edit' because the daily mail went completely insane about how it's a game that promotes bullying even though it's actually the exact opposite lol It got the original name when it got re released on Wii and 360 because the daily mail had moved on to a new outrage about something, probably muslims idk

Anyone who makes fun of American covers of Japanese games has obviously never seen the inverse. Apparently the trick to sell games in Japan is remove all the black people, redraw everything in anime, and put tits front and center.

here is a counter-example where the Japan version has the masculine hero front and center (complete with phallic imagery) while the US version is just a sweet artful logo here is one where the Japanese cover is arguably the best but the EU one is hilariously bad
