The sooner science allows us to create hyper intelligent talking animals the better. It's a great injustice that humans try to keep other species dumb and subservient as our slaves instead of sharing our unique gift of a common language and advanced minds.

Creating intelligent AI robotic animals like in Blade Runner would also be acceptable I guess, but not as noble as enlightening our less fortunate mammal cousin species.

I thought we were! Self driving cars, AI picture recognition that can describe the contents of arbitrary photos, personal assistants in your pocket.. the list is getting longer every year.
