Asking for a friend. Please tell me who is the best wizard. Is it Merlin? He cast some pretty cool spells I guess. If you need someone to get hosed he has a cool spell that lets you rape chicks. Pretty powerful if you ask me.  Is the best wizard Raistlin Majere? He is pretty strong according to the one Dragonlance book I read. I hear he goes crazy though and maybe that's not the best fit for best wizard.  Is the best wizard Elminster Aumar? He is in Dungeons and Dragons, he is a very powerful wizard of the realms, basically the magic pope if you think about it.  Maybe Rand al'Thor from the Wheel of Time?? He had some pretty cool powers like shooting time erasing fireballs.  Is the best wizard someone who I don't even know anything about? Super heros do not count as they are clearly not wizards so goku will not be a part of this discussion.

Rand was a lovely wizard because he could've just cast balefire on all the evil wizards and then it would've been like evil never existed but he didn't because I guess it would've been a lot of work to deal with a character having a spell that retcons your own books that actually uses it
