That's the garbage-era reffing mantra. Don't call anything until there's a mandatory call (high stick, delay, too much man, etc). Then call whatever you can on the other team to even up the calls. Because otherwise, you're letting refs determine the outcome.

They just have ridiculous forward depth while the Caps are relying on Tom Wilson, Daniel Winnik, and the corpses of Mike Richards and Jason Chimera.

I think it's a bit disingenuous to blame Washington's depth since it's still much better than a lot of teams. Pittsburgh is just playing better, full stop. We'll see if the Caps can make this interesting. That Oshie goal helps.
