Just got a free monitor from some dude, a 3d-compatible viewsonic! Only thing is I plugged it up and it seemed to be looking good until I started X up and now theres tiny pixel-wide vertical lines going across the screen  Anyone have experience with this monitor in linux, maybe theres some xrandr or some other poo poo I can do??

You really haven't provided enough information. What video card are you using, what driver, what desktop environment, what resolution?
