I'm a dad. Sometimes I forget that my kids view me as this mythological figure and I can tell that they are hurt by my mindlessness in those moments. I hope someday they're older and realize their dad is just some dude trying his best. Anyway, go easy on your dad because being one is messed up and you're constantly feeling intense joy and heartbreak all day everyday.

my dad is super cool and after spending years and years working he sold the house I grew up in in San Jose for like retarded money even though it was a small house on the east side and bought some really nice property up in Redding which sucks cause like I'm going to visit my parents for the 4th and now I have to drive like 10 hours instead of 4.5 to see them but whatever thats the way she goes

My dad was an awful and angery all the time and yelled and broke stuff a lot. He's mostly chill now which gives him a lot of time to wonder why all of his children hate him and want nothing to do with him.

I love my dad, he's one of the kindest people I know and he sacrificed a lot for his family when I was growing up. I feel very lucky to have a dad who is as good to me as he is for how young he was when I was born, because I know the chances of that are pretty slim these days.

one time i subbed another letter carrier's route and delivered my dad's mail. it was a nice surprise for him. i had my lunch break at his house that day. edit: he made me a sandwich for lunch.
