"Optics are horrid"...? For who? Who could possibly care about this? They could be talking on the phone for two hours every day and nobody would know. They talk for thirty minutes in person, and it's a big deal?

It's a objective fact that the optics are terrible. Why is it so hard to admit that?

Forget Bill or Hillary or Lynch or any specific person and look at it as it is being seen -- a meeting took place, which was purposefully tried to be kept secret, between the AG and the husband of the person who is the subject of a investigation.

There is no political theory in which that doesn't equate to bad optics.

Lynch had to speak about it at the Aspen Summit this morning and publicly affirm that she would abide by the recommendations by the FBI -- even she knows she had to get out in front of it because it looked bad.

Clinton's aids had to be asking what Bill was thinking after that meeting. It was a silly move.

The optics aren't bad, people are loving retarded.

People realize that prosecutors in charge of making charging decisions in big cases frequently meet with the person they're considering charging and/or their lawyer right? Like "tell me why I shouldn't charge you for this" is a feature not corruption so trying to insinuate that this meeting was secretly about the investigation is really really dumb because meeting with the Clintons about the case wouldn't been in any way inappropriate even if it had happened (though maybe premature).

I can't even argue against this insanity.

Lynch has already said that she didn't speak about the investigation so your argument is that she lied but it was ok because lawyers do this poo poo all the time? And even if that was the case, she decided the best person to meet was not the subject of the investigation or her lawyer but her husband?

Yes very hidden, that's why it was contemporaneously all over the internet, Lynch spoke this morning because she knows dumb people like you are making hay about it not because there was anything actually wrong with the meeting.

The reporter who initially discovered the meeting was told no filming or pictures. Information being spread doesn't negate the fact that it was initially tried to kept secret.

I'm arguing with a loving fence post here. There's no positives to what they did. If they hadn't have done this there would've been something else republicans would have harped on. I think Bill, in the moment, doesn't care. Not in a malicious way, as in he doesn't care about Hillary's nomination, that's silly, but he's Bill Clinton. He gets in verbal arguments with BLM activists at campaign rallies, he does his own thing.

Giving a loan deferment and some forgiveness for people to try to innovate isn't exactly a bad idea.

This is the perfect example of racism hidden behind good intentions. I'm sure Clinton means well but I doubt this will be a boon for minority entrepreneurs.

The first thing is that the private server is a red herring. Yes, it was against internal policy and she could have faced administrative sanctions, but that is a moot point since she's out of office. Neither her server or the gov email she was supposed to use should have had secure data on it. So now we get to the actually potentially illegal stuff.

The first path to a charge is if you could show that Hillary knew it was secure data and deliberately took it off the secure system. Comey shot that down when he said "we did not find clear evidence that Secretary Clinton or her colleagues intended to violate laws governing the handling of classified information".

The second path to a charge is if her behavior could be considered "Grossly Negligent." Note the bar for this is stuff like literally throwing secure documents into a dumpster so you can go home early or leaving a secure laptop logged in at a public coffee shop. This is would be pretty hard to prove since she's a grandma and hired someone else to manage the IT side of things.

To your bold statement, didn't she have her people print out a email and remove its header so they could fax it? That's pretty much the definition of deliberately taking secured data off a secure system.
