The town I grew up in was a sub 1000 population poo poo-hole that somehow scraped together enough money every year to keep its public school going. I had a hard time when I younger taking criticism, especially jokes, and so my temper made me a pretty easy target. The worst part was just how violent some of them were with me. There were several times I was cornered out behind bleachers and legitimately though I was going to die. I eventually moved to another school, got better, got friends, and learned to take a loving joke. Turns out my mortal fear of the people in my old town weren't entirely unfounded though. One of the worst kids who messed me had serious anger problems and was incredibly big for his age. Turns out he got arrested for attempted rape of his own sister.

I think I gave off a "I'm gonna do a Columbine massacre one day" vibe for the better part of my teenage years, and that spared me from getting bullied
