Magos-Myrmidon Estas Spall of the Ordo Reductor Few outsiders truly realize how separate the Adeptus Mechanicus are from the rest of the Imperium. They are not simply the religious savants who oversee technology, they are a Empire itself that resides inside the greater Imperium. They have their own armies, a religion that is largely left alone by the Ecclesiarchy, and secret organizations that operate outside the normal Imperial channels. This sub-Empire survives by making itself essential to the greater order of the Imperium, by defending it's prerogatives ruthlessly and by letting no challenge to it's rules stand. It guards the technological knowledge of the Imperium with a bloody hand. Those who seek to develop new technology, or work with ancient lost technology, need to do so with a member of the Mechanicus standing at their side, lest they be labled a Tech-Heretek. Estas Spall is a Secutor of the Ordo Reductor, one of the militant orders that composes the armies of the Adeptus Mechanicus. Grown from the combined genetics of two respected Enginseers of the Titan Legion on Forge Falux, his life has been given over to the destruction of the enemies of the Mechanicus; to hunt down the rogue elements that use forbidden or alien technologies and to destroy them ruthlessly. As many of the Tech-Hereteks are also enemies of the Inquisition, his job has regularly put him in contact with members of the Inquisitorial Ordos, causing him to lend his skills and weaponry to this larger organization. Sometimes favors are traded, with an Acolyte cell hitting one of his targets in exchange for his assistance with dealing with a non Tech-Heretek at an Inquisitors behest.
