...We danced the Mamushka while Nero fiddled, we danced the Mamushka at Waterloo. We danced the Mamushka for Jack the Ripper, and now, Fester Addams, this Mamushka is for you....

Betty smiles and curtsies to Adam as she twirls onstage, scattering a circle of little pellets from her sleeve as she does. The moment they impact the ground around her, they explode into red and blue clouds with a flash, and start twirling around her as she moves about, forming all sorts of elaborate patterns as she shows off.

"Hiii everyone~♪", she speaks in a rather chipper tone, "It's Betty Kirlington as Hex, scion of the Kirlington family line! Here to show everybody exactly why my secret family recipes beat all others, hah!"

Salesmanship skill: 1d6 3

quote:

Name: Betty Kirlington
Background: Arcanist
Origin: Magical Entrepreneur (Species, Human)
Level: 1
Class: Illusionist (moves are reskinned though, to fit her character)
Role: Controller

Skills:
Languages, Research, Esoteric Trivia, Spellcraft, Accumulated Debris, Salesmanship, Alchemy, A hundred potions and charm

Wealth: Poor [1]

Complications:
Ditzy, Overconfident

Tricks
Can always identify the powers of an unknown magic item.
Can always scrounge together some sort of magic poultice or minor charm.

Feats:
Crafty Controller: Once per combat, when an enemy succeeds on a Saving Throw, you may make them reroll. If they succeed again, you may slide them 2 squares.

Class Stuff
Contagious Illusions: When a nonstooge enemy fails a Saving Throw against a Status derived from one of your Class Powers at the end of its turn or when attempting an Escape Roll, the nearest enemy to it also gains that same Status. If multiple enemies are equally close, you choose which it spreads to. An enemy that has successfully removed a Status cannot be reinfected with that same Status later in the fight when its ally fails a Saving Throw.

A Lil' Voodoo (At Will, Attack, Ranged 10 Damage 2): Effect: Slide target 1 square and it is Distracted (save ends).

Hypnotic Charm (At Will, Attack, Ranged 10 Damage 2): Effect: Designate one safe square on the map within 5 squares of the target that the target could feasibly get to. The target has Disadvantage on attack rolls until it moves adjacent to that square, or (save ends). Note: A safe square is one that the target could move to without taking any damage or negative status, if you and your allies were not around. For instance, damaging zones you create are not safe, but Difficult Terrain is safe. “Feasibly get to” means you can’t put it on an unclimbable cliff unless the target can fly.

Kirlington's 'Kold Flame Special' Brew (Encounter, Attack): Create a 5x5 zone of illusory flame. When any enemy is applying Forced Movement to one of its enemies and they could choose the flames as a possible destination, they must do so. If you or your allies attempt to move an enemy into the flame with Forced Movement, that enemy must drop Prone and attempt not to be slid there. Any enemy that ends its turn in the zone will be Panicked on its next turn once finished Panicking, the enemy becomes immune to all effects of this power.

Role stuff
Control Boost: When you roll a 3 to 6 on an attack, you may choose to either Slow the target until the end of its next turn, or to slide the target 3 squares.

Sap Strength (At Will, Role, Ranged 5): Target is Weakened until the end of its next turn. (At level 4, save ends. At level 8, Weaken two targets in range.)

Freeze (Encounter, Reaction, Trigger: An enemy moves): Spend an Action Point. Replace the enemy where it started its movement. Its Move Action is still expended.

"Ooh, gnolls!" Betty claps her hands a bit. "That's totally great because their fur can be woven into a variety of charms! Also, the fact that none of the things extracted from them require heat to capture the magical essence, since I totally forgot my mercurial simmerer in the dressing room by accident! Haha, whoops!"

"Ahaha", Betty laughed as she watched two of the brawlers beat down the kobold at the top of the stairs. Not so much to cheer them on, but to use the occasion for yet another pitch. "See, the Kirlington family is good for more than flash! We can do subtle too! Let me demonstrate!" With a deft hand, she retrieved two straw dolls and some needles from her belt (to great flourish so that people could see her doing it), and then proceeded to jab the needles into the dolls, overacting the entire procedure very dramatically. She gave a bow towards the audience as two kobolds gave out pained yelps in unison.

As rolled on Roll20:
Staying still
Attack Kobold still left next to PQ with voodoo 1d6=4 (sliding it 1 tile North)
Role action: Sap Strength on the kobold next to Siroko
Initiative 4

Betty stood up and dusted her pants and coat, trying her very best to force the grimace on her face into a grin instead. She'd had worse, she was telling herself. An alchemist does not come of age without getting their share of far too many completely unnecessary electric shocks. Hmph. She could take it. There was soliciting to be done!

"Observe, observe! Something I whipped up just for you all!" She chucked a strange, orange potion with blue swirlies through the air in a wide arc that finally took it right next to Joplin, where it shattered and wreathed the top of the temple in a cracking inferno. Betty laughed.

"See, Kirlington's Kold Flame Special! Looks, sounds and smells just like real flame! Feels like real flame too if you get too close, haha! Really, the only difference is the lack of actual burns! All the fun of fire without any off the hassle!"

Betty stands on one leg and performs a V pose, whilst quipping at a camera "Fun without hassle, that's Kirlington!"

"(Disclaimer: Make sure to write upon the charm provided with the Kold Brew the names of all the people you don't want to feel the sweet lick of flame, like I have done to my dear team mates here! Betty's Brew and Charm Boutique cannot be held liable at event of permanent psychological trauma caused by illusionary feelings of combustion.)"

As rolled on Roll20:
Using Kold Flame Special on Joplin (that is, between the pillars)
Role action: None this turn
Rolled 6 on saving throw, no more ongoing damage

Betty gasped as Siroko hit the floor. Wasn't she supposed to be the prodigy? Well, even the very best faltered sometime. Like her mam, bless her soul.

But anyways, this could not be allowed to stand. Who knows what the kobold would do next to the downed Siroko. Betty needed to get it away from her ally to prevent a coup de grâce, but she doubted she had the firepower to instantly do it. Hm. Well, she still hadn't shown off all her goods, might as well take this chance to do something new.

"HOI, YOU FLEABITTEN SACK O CRAP" Betty hollered, and the irritated glance by the kobold, that momentary eye contact was all she needed as she wiggled her fingers dramatically and slammed the kobold's mind with some of her best mind affecting charms, causing the thing to falter and reel as she scrambled its psyche like eggs at breakfast.

"I think that mage friend of yours getting strangled there needs some help! Better get to it dontcha think?"

Betty smirked to herself as she scrambled for cover on her right. No reason to give the mages a clear line of fire.

As rolled on Roll20:
Using Hypnotic Charm on the lone spear kobold (Rolled 4, Lure square is the one directly west of the western kobold wizard)
Role action: Sap Strength on the lone spear kobold
Using my Controller Boost to Slow the Spear kobold
Moving one square North and four squares East into cover

Betty cocked an eyebrow at the DJ's proclamation. "Wow would you look at that smuggo. Hey Siroko, if you need a lil' get you up then I'm pretty sure I packed something to help you out! Or you know, at least something that will help you to ignore the pain until we get out of here, hehe!" Betty rummaged through her packs, without really waiting for an answer, her altruistic outburst only slightly marred by her desire to once again showcase the superiority of her recipes to whatever mass-produced swill the announcer was offering.

I'll roll 'A hundred potions and charms' if Siroko is receptive to aid. No point in offering balms or potions if she wont take them after all :v:

Betty gingerly places down a little box of bandages next to Photine, before making her way towards the doors. "Ah! Magical scripture! And it just so happens that I know several and can say 'Hi!' and 'Goodbye!' in several others! Hah!"

Betty sticks out her tongue and squints her eyes comically as she leans in to inspect the strange markings.
