I played for about an hour and have very positive first impressions. Looks great and runs silky smooth on PS4 Pro, better than any other open world game for sure, Marcus is likable, music is extremely my poo poo, and as a repeat tourist to SF (my dad's home town) they've nailed all the stuff I remember so far. Obviously it's extremely condensed, like the park area south of the Golden Gate is non-existent, but who cares. Most importantly, I already have a stupid shirt  Only concerning thing is how different the controls are compared to every other game. That always fucks me up, especially this time of year.

This made me laugh pretty hard because my wife and I had a similar conversation in this exact same location last year after walking from the Bay Bridge to Golden Gate and then finding it really difficult to get back to our downtown hotel as the sun set. I haven't unlocked the quadcopter yet. Tried it like three times and then abandoned it for the haum sweet haum one which was easy by comparison.

^WD1 was an absolutely massive success sales wise. Set records for Ubisoft. That's not the issue. But yeah the first game coming out on its own in May helped it a lot I think. I bought it because there was nothing else to buy for months on either side. Edit: Aw man I just did four awesome invasions in a row but now it can't find a match. Oh god does that mean I'm being hacked?!  So paranoid now.

Finished the main story, last few missions were a little too combat dependent and the ending wasn't great but this is still maybe just under GTA V and RDR as one of the best open world games ever IMO. Will still gently caress around online for a few weeks at least I think.

For the "neutralize five fugitives in Bounty Hunt mode" trophy, does it count when another human or the cops do it and it says bounty successful or do I have to kill them myself? If it's the latter, that's gonna be a lot more difficult. I can kill dudes if I'm on my own but often someone beats me to it. Especially since I'm the one mashing the button to stop their car usually.

Yeah after the latest patch it doesn't have to load to get you into someone else's game, even when you're the hacker/hunter. Pretty amazing. I gotta say though, now that people are getting used to it, hacking invasion needs some work. They inexplicably took away the one minute prep time so hiding is really tough, apparently hacker vision exposes you right away (never been hacked myself, which is another issue), and the quadcopter makes it even tougher to find a hiding spot. I had one failed hack where a guy made me stop no less than five times while he ran up to my escaping car. People have too much hacker juice. I feel like I only successfully hack someone when they don't really know what they're doing. On another note, the "neutralize five fugitives in Bounty Hunt mode" trophy does require you to personally do the killing, which makes it 100x harder. But at least I've got something to keep me busy before I get platinum, which I rarely try to do. Only need that, 25 purchased cars (lame), and escape a level 5 felony. I'm sad there are no more key data puzzles, those were fun.

loving hell I got an immediate bounty hunter match when I turned on the game but stepped in front of a speeding car and immediately died and now I can't get into another. Edit: finally got the trophy on the next attempt. Just need 25 cars now... I haven't gotten a real platinum since infamous second son and you get that by playing the (very short) game twice so this may be my first legit one. Edit 2: booya  And suddenly I'm getting invaded constantly so the fun continues. Pro tip: don't use a drone while hacking, it points a line right to you.
