duclair scratched and perlini brought up. duke's been snakebit but shows a lot more effort getting back on defense. probably a good idea to let him take a day off. perlini has 11 goals in 16 games in the ahl and had some setbacks with a broken hand and something else but he's probably right on track with a callup this year

He doesn't do anything particularly well but he isn't really bad at anything either. Was a decent 3rd line centre on some awful Leafs teams until this year when the rookies pushed him out of the top 9 and Babcock decided he preferred Ben Smith's bad hockey skills but good faceoffs and penalty killing over Peter Holland. He's never going to be a core part of any NHL team but he is a legitimate NHLer. good to hear, that's basically exactly what the yotes have wanted since brad richardson went out.

holland trade is for a 2018 6th, conditional on him being re-signed or traded. that feels like a really good trade. if he's just a stopgap then it costs us nothing, and if he's just a stopgap but he does well then we trade him for something higher than a 6th
