The US, and I assume a large part of the whole world, runs on cheap China poo poo. It's cheap because we don't give a gently caress about what working conditions they make the stuff in, 40 cents an hour is fine, they have suicide nets outside the high windows.

You're goddam right we know this kind of poo poo is real. What are you going to do about it? US workers demand (and should be) a certain pay for work. China can get people to work for pennies. Guess who the investors want the CEO to choose when investing in manufacturing? Take a good guess what would happen if a CEO said "hey, gently caress profits, I want this made in AMERICA! Also we're dropping our profit margin by 30%"

That CEO would be out on his rear end in an hour.

If Trump does something crazy like dropping a 35% tax on imports, and it doesn't result in WW3, poo poo might change. Maybe.
