Coach Nagy, you want me to throw to WHAT side of the field?

Hair Elf
So, after an exciting few days, I figure we might as well just create a thread for all of the trade deadline :f5h: action

So, the first major domino already fell this weekend, as Boogie Cousins was traded to the Pelicans in a hilariously dumb deal

Right now, there is a lot of smoke out there and a number of superstars and not so super stars being discussed as possible candidates to move:

Carmelo Anthony:

A (barely) all-star on the knicks, Carmelo's best days are probably in the past, but he is still a major name and there is some interest
Possible landing spots: Celtics, Clippers

Paul George:

Very much a star, but with his contract ending in the near future, the Pacers might decide that it isn't worth risking him bolting and trade him. Probably won't happen, but who knows
Possible landing spots: Celtics, [Your favorite team here]

Andre Drummond:

A guy who everyone was convinced was gonna be a bust, who somehow wasn't. Very large big man, who can't make free throws. Hasn't really taken the kind of step people expected this season
Possible landing spots: Celtics (Feel like I'm sensing a theme), Raptors

Derrick Rose:

Turns out he isn't back, but he is on an expiring contract, and for god knows what reason, Thibs seems interesting in reuniting with him
Possible landing spots: Timberwolves

Jimmy Butler:

Basically, the Bulls front office hates him because the Bulls are dumb as poo poo, was almost traded during the draft
Possible landing spots: Celtics, Wolves

Louis Williams:

Only included because he is actually likely to be traded, former 6th man of the year, good bench scorer, yours for the low, low price of a first round pick
Possible landing spots: Cavs, Raptors, Wizards, Hornets, Pelicans, Rockets

Traded to the Rockets

[Your Favorite Player]

Because your favorite team hates you, and want to make you suffer, and the media knows the rumors will get page views
Possible landing spots: [Your Least Favorite Team]

Other names with rumors circulating around them:
Brook Lopez
Damian Lillard
Terrence Jones
Jahlil Okafor
Bojan Bogdanovic Traded to the Wizards

Corey Brewer

Great, scrappy small forward with plenty of intangibles. Scored 51 points in a game once!

Destinations: God willing, somewhere other than the Rockets

I wonder whether some team gets a better return for Jahlil Okafor, Lou Williams, or Bojan Bogdanovich than what the Kings got for Boogie.

Yay a late first round pick! If only we hadn't fired the people responsible for pulling great value out of the late first early second round

I mean, I'm glad he didn't decide he needed to bundle a pick with Lou to dump him, but this trade isn't exactly inspiring confidence in his negotiating skills

Crazy Ted

Not really sure what the point of this one is for the Lakers. Brewer's contract runs through the end of next year and the value of a pick in the #28-30 range is negligible unless you can pull competent players out of your rear end there like the Spurs.

The Williams trade is fine. The Lakers were dead set on turning him into s first rounder. If this is the only trade where one was offered then so be it.

Who would give a second for a guy shoting 41% overall and 23% from 3, with another year and a half left on his contract?

I'm not saying it's likely. I just want it to happen. The man did score 51 in a game once though.

I think someone posted in the N/V that the Boogie deal depressed the market heavily because no one wants to be the team that pays more for a rotation guy than what NOLA paid for Boogie

Crazy Ted

Magic strikes me as the kind of guy who'd be an MJ-like NBA executive based on his completely generic Tweetering about the Lakers. My favorite: "The #2 pick is good because you can get a good player with it."

I wonder who his Adam Morrison will be.
