I mean I love Kraftwerk as much as the next nerd. But is the music for autistic people? Repetive beats, lyrics about computers and trains? Am I alone in this thought or was Kraftwerk just ahead of their time?

I thought autistic people either hate music or listen to weird abstract electronic music that sounds like something a robot would make love to.

i'm sure kraftwerk was pretty epic back in the day but they aren't anything these days. they have their classics, yeah, but i bet you most millennial or gen z electronic music fans would find their music lame. it's sort of like watching a 40 year old movie that set the standard for some style you enjoy today. you feel like you've seen it a million times even though this is the original personally, i think those german fuckers are really just browsing efukt or some poo poo on their panels on stage after some sound tech hit the play button but that's just me

kraftwerk were novel and innovative but definitely very much a product of their time. I don't know if you can have an opinion on them with regards to how it compares to new stuff. Thanks for reading.

I thought that metal was the most autistic genre because of its emotionless precision, its droning repetition, and the double bass drums being reminiscent of trains. And like, all the songs about elves and demons.

I think if you're only slightly afflicted with the 'tism you'll like kraftwerk because you'll be really into what the synthesizers are doing. If that isn't your flavour of 'tism then yeah metal is the default. Metal or soundtracks to anime.

Only got into Kraftwerk about three or four years ago, I absolutely love it. No idea if I'm autistic or not, I got a friend into them who's very nerdy but to be honest I think he just loves anything German.

Gentle Giant rules! So does Philip Glass, but for totally different reasons except they both love arpeggios! I got nothing against Kraftwerk, I enjoy what I've heard but I know I haven't heard enough. They seem promising. They built a bunch of their own equipment which did not previously exist, proving they were a bunch of electrical engineer sperglords, also they rarely spoke to the media. They could've just been German, though.
