Welcome back to our Hublot Forum of Friendship matchday thread, fellow goons. Yesterday was the worst day of football in this World Cup so far. France and Denmark produced this tournament's first goalless draw, plucky Iceland fell to the Croatians and Argentina knocked out the Super Eagles We can only hope that today will be better! These are our four matches: Mexico vs Sweden, 16:00 CET, 3 p.m. BST, 10 a.m. EST, Yekaterinburg South Korea vs Germany, 16:00 CET, 3 p.m. BST, 10 a.m. EST, Kazan Switzerland vs Costa Rica, 20:00 CET, 7 p.m. BST, 2 p.m. EST, Nizhny Novgorod Serbia vs Brazil, 20:00 CET, 7 p.m. BST, 2 p.m. EST, Moscow First up is Group F, where every team can both still advance to the KO stages or be eliminated from the World Cup. Mexico is in the best position, being guaranteed a spot in the round of 16 as long as they at least draw. Even if they lose, they would only be eliminated if Germany win and have a better goal differential (that is, if Meixco lose by 0-1, Germany needs to win by at least two goals). Sweden will advance if they win and Germany doesn't win. If both win, or both draw, it comes down to tiebreakers, i.e. goal difference > goals scored > fair play rating > drawing lots. In the other Group F match, we have Germany vs South Korea. I've already written how Germany can advance, but South Korea could still get out of the group with just three points. If they beat Germany and Sweden loses to Mexico, they will go through on goal difference if they win by at least two goals over Germany. All this makes this group of matches the most exciting today. Each team will have to give it all in order to secure advancement, there will be no shameful displays like yesterday's France-Denmark game. Mexico is slightly favored to win against Sweden while South Korea are the clear underdogs in their match against Germany. Will the reigning champion succumb to the course and be eliminated from the group stages? In Group E, Switzerland are facing Costa Rica. Costa Rica our already eliminated, the rest of the teams can all still get out of the group. The Swiss will get through if they win or draw. If Brazil wins over Serbia, they could even afford to lose to Costa Rica. Since Costa Rica didn't impress so far, while Switzerland had two solid matches, the Swiss are the clear favorites to win. In the other Group E match, we have Serbia vs Brazil. Brazil go through if they win or draw. If they lose, they must hope that Switzerland also lose so that it goes to tiebreakers. Serbia can also get through to the group stages if they win the game, or if they draw the game and Switzerland loses, depending on the tiebreakers. But Brazil are the clearly better team, so a Serbian win would be a huge surprise. Besides, Brazil have the incredible, unbeatable Fagner, so there's really no way that they could lose! For more squad infos, look up the team threads: Mexican Team Thread Swedish Thread South Korean Team Thread German Team Thread Swiss Team Thread Costa Rican Team Thread Serbian Team Thread Brazilian Team Thread After yesterday's horrible football, it can only get better today. Let's hope the cool and good German lads can get out of the group stages! Join us for a hopefully better day of football here in our Hublot Forum of Friendship!

I'm not very happy with this one either tbh, it's not very clear that it says Fagner imo. But eh, better than the last one for sure! Still 6 hours until the football starts, mods?!

^^^ thanks 4 using my text contribution Eau de MacGowan posted:one of germany or brazil has got to go, what happened to all the big teams being shite, no me gusta It's been an annoyingly recurring theme that the big teams play like wastemen for 80 minutes and steal a winner in the last 10. Germany must go, along with their many inexplicable plastics. In closing, it's coming home, Fagner, VAR VAR VAR.
