Yeah that gets your foot in the door and then Kickstarter just gets a dime. (If their cut is still 10%.) Then you can add on whatever you want through the Reaper manager. I'm not sure if I want to go that route or just skip it entirely - Kickstarter is being really lovely about unions, but I still want to still support Reaper and other independent creators without giving KS money.

I was doing Wave 2 US and didn't realize my pledge didn't go through until I got an email. I was able to get Wave 5 $1. Does it really take 2 years? I was hoping to have this be my kick in the pants to paint more but 2 years!

When do you have to pay if you pledge? All my kids and half my grandkids have birthdays in the next few months. From now until December is known as the Poor Time.

KS collects when it ends, but then you have until a few weeks after they close the pledge manager months later to add funds. So if you're saving up for birthdays, Christmas, new tires, and home repairs (like me) just put $1 in and you'll have a chance later.

That Baba Yaga hut is nice, I like the red roof and may have to try for something similar on mine. What are Reaper saying about shipping to the UK, out of interest? I'm not signing up, but I can't imagine that Brexit is going to do wonders for their shipping times and costs if they cant ship in bulk to Europe and fulfil fropm there any more.

I've seen nothing explicit said. Shipping will be handled closer to the time in the pledge manager, and the waves to Britain are in a different group from waves to the EU. I'm down for $1 and will handle everything in the pledge manager...

From watching the livestream, they're going to distribute from Nottingham and Germany, so they should be ok as long as Brexit doesn't cause Britain to sink into the sea.

Reaper is still doing Ghoulie Bags this month. It isn't being advertised on their site, but it'll show up on orders of $40 or more. I got mine in today. I needed some paints and decided to bulk up the order with some interesting models.   The Ghoulie Bag contents. Bonus model is a translucent purple version of the female wraith model they have. The candy disappeared in minutes because I'm a horrible trash goblin.  Standard colors for their bonus bags. Graveyard Bone is new, but the other two will go on my paint rack alongside the 3 other copies I've got floating around.  Hard to photograph, but it looks nice. It smells like a skunk though, which I chalk up to whatever casting chemicals they use.  Bonus model for this month. Might be a sign of new packaging in the future. "Dark Dwarf Pounder" is also my porn name now, sorry.

I'm glad the Bones Black minis are starting to hit more widely. I picked up the "Maggotcrown men at arms" set and the detail is actually pretty nice, especially in the chainmail and the integrated base. WAAAY better than the old first gen bones stuff I have lying around.

I'm of two minds about the integrated bases. On the one hand, having something that can easily keep the model balanced while also offering some neat terrain detail is cool, particularly for beginners; on the other hand, half the drat time the feet/pegs don't line up perfectly, and if I want to glue them onto a different kind of base I either get rid of the integrated base entirely or have to cut around it/fill in gaps. As an example, the Bones Black Cave Troll is a really nice sculpt with a bare-bones base that I have no interest in. The troll's feet have this extra bit of mold to it on the bottom soles, so gluing it directly to a new base looks awkward unless I either trim the extra molding off or sculpt around the feet. It's not difficult or anything, just mildly annoying.

They really ramped up the $50 expansion packs, up to 6 now with Chronoscope, Dungeon Dwellers, Daimyo, Greek Odyssey, Dark Depths, Brinewind. Compares with 5 in Bones 4, 3 in Bones 3, 3 in Bones 2, and none in Bones 1

I like how this is my third bones KS and they're still utterly unreadable just globs of models and scrolling and more scrolling and there's good stuff in here but just keep loving scrolling until you just pledge a dollar and figure it out later gently caress Seriously though there's a lot of great addons in this one. I don't remember four having so much neat stuff.
