I have some thoughts about the balance of this game, taking into account the modules chosen. I'd be reallllly interested in other people's thoughts, but at the moment my gut feeling is:

- First Marketeer's -2 distance is just bonkers, especially amongst the rest of its double milestone bonuses. It recruits for you, it pays wages for you, it slows your opponents because they have to stick a Pricing Manager in their lineup just to be on equal footing, it locks them out of Luxury Coffee... I don't really know how to unravel and balance out all the repercussions involved. Maybe next game is nightshift module only, to see if it swings the other way.

- Luxury Coffee is weird and I don't like it and I would houserule the heck out of it next time.

My problem with marketer openings is the errand boy that really lets its engine come online so quickly. It has a fairly narrow upgrade path but can fairly easily build up a strong output without sacrificing a whole lot.

Yeah having seen it in motion, the new First Marketeer is waaaay too overpowered. I get that First Billboard was underpowered (and especially, eternal marketing was always as much of a drawback as a bonus) and the other two openings were buffed, but I think they overcompensated with First Marketeer. It basically combines all the First To Market milestones, the "no salaries" part of the First Billboard milestone, and the First To Lower Prices milestone, except making them all better on top of that.

I think there's merit in rolling those all into one milestone, taken on Round 2, but combining them and buffing them is way too much. Combine the First To Market and First To Lower prices for "you get a $5 bonus on each food item sold, and your prices are permanently lowered by $1" would still be extremely powerful, but you'd have to actually move product to take advantage of it, and your advantage on price would both be modest and come at a cost to you.

Other than the power level of First Marketeer, I still think the new milestones are a lot more elegant with less "oh damnit, my milestone is keeping me from doing what I wanted" than the base, though. I'm looking at you, First Burger/Pizza produced, and others.

In my games with Ketchup it really comes down to map and modules. Night shift makes RG pretty insane thanks to pricing and production capabilities with zero salary, and they will control turn order throughout on top of that. Trainer with lobbyist has similar power levels, thanks to being able to drop an apartment with a park on the first round you play it.

Base game with only new milestones the marketer is definitely the safe/strong play thanks to controlling the lemonade milestone which is the real problem and offers it too much flexibility mid game.
