WE ARE STILL RECRUITING 10/12 Tl;DR: This is a PvP / PvE tactical turn based forum game revolving around alien convicts decommissioning giant alien infested ships. If you’re not into playing, there will be a classic CYOA choice every week, voting starts on Fridays, and results will happen on the appropriate phase the next week. CTRL+F Creating a prisoner to get straight to the character creation rules. The year is 203AE, or After Earth-fall. The interstellar community has a rotating system of governments ruled by an intergalactic consortium called the Empirical Learning Organization. Society in the ELO is comfortable, with an exceedingly low crime rate, and an abundance of entertainment. People of the ELO, (and regardless of your race, everyone in the ELO is a person,) live their days free to work on what they choose, when they choose. It is a society that exists post scarcity, except for one resource, an exceedingly advanced solution called “Ever-Oil” that can be manipulated by fancy machines to take the shape of whatever a person might need. This oil has allowed them to create a free society, where everyone can live in peace. Well almost everyone. There are those who can not handle the peace, those who would rather fight, cause trouble, and rebel against what they see as a cage. Those who no matter of education, love, and kindness can reach. These people are kept away, far away in penal colonies. These penal colonies exist to do one thing, sacrifice people in the constant search of Ever-Oil. Why these people are imprisoned does not matter, what matters to them is that with enough Ever-Oil found, they can escape. In a vast universe, there are many ships that are sent out with huge stores of Ever-Oil. Of those many ships that are sent out, whether they’re huge colonizing ark’s holding thousands of people to colonize a new planet, or military vessels as large as some small cities, or even freighters with few humans aboard and a huge amount of cargo. Inevitably some do not return home. Not many are willing to risk their lives for Ever-Oil, and even fewer are willing to brave the dangers that must have taken down the ship in the first place. So a compromise was born, those in the penal colonies had an option, they could either serve out the remainder of their sentence, (for some that means never getting out,) or they could sign up to decommission these huge hulking ships, collecting as much Ever Oil as they could. Those who are capable of decommissioning a vessel would be awarded their freedom. Not every ship is brought back online the same way, the ELO will give you their best guess for how to reactivate an abandoned ship. The Rules The Goal of the game is to complete objectives to decommission space ships, and get 3 demerits removed from your sentence, allowing you to be freed from your penal colony There are three phases in this game Tuesday: Mount Up Thursday: Lock and Load Saturday: What’s that?! Sunday: Alien Activity Your Character has 5 attributes Strength - Used to power through objectives, adds +1 to damage, adds 1 to armored defense (Base defense is 10.) Dexterity - Used to slip through problems, adds +1 to Dex Attacks, adds 1 to physical defense (Base defense is 10.) Intelligence - Used to think things through, adds +1 to Science Attacks, adds 1 to mental defense. (Base defense is 10) Health - The middle score between the 3 stats add 7 to it, then multiply the sum by 3, so if STR was 6, DEX was 5, and INT was 1, you would have 5 Health before math, then you would add 7 to get 12, and multiply it by 3 to get 36. The lowest HP you can get is 24 (10, 1, 1), the highest you can get is (6,5,1) 36 Speed - Always 6, unless an item or an effect changes it. Mount Up Everyone can move up to their speed, unless an encounter stops them, people will move in a straight line unless stated otherwise >Charge your Batteries: Gain a +1d4 on the next roll if no movement was taken. Lock and Load You can do one of the following during the lock and load phase Search- reveals all hexes around you in a 1-3 hex radius circle. Roll 1d3 to see how much is revealed. Will show you all hidden prisoners, enemies, and encounters. Hide - Gain an extra attack on an enemy or friendly that enters your Hex. If you start moving, you are no longer hidden. You can not hide then move into someone else's space and get the extra attack Reload - Reload any weapons or gadgets that say Reload, the number in that section is how many times the item can be used before you reload Swap - Trade weapons with any prisoner in the same hex as you. Special - Items or encounters with the Special Tag will need to use the Special action. Attack - Roll 3d6+ whatever stat the weapon says. If it hits, roll damage from the weapon Cover - Subtract 2d4 from damage roll Quick- Anything marked quick can be used in conjunction with the main action, without equipping it. Can be done twice per turn as long as no other action is taken. Can only be done once per turn if another action is taken. All special or automated effects, unless stated otherwise, trigger at the end of the players Lock and Load Phase. If you are poisoned, that’s when the poison kicks in effect, if your hex is going to be depressurized, that’s when you get sucked out into space. After Lock and Load, but before What's That, enemies Do their actions and movements, Enemies ACT, then they MOVE. What’s That? As you move around the ship, and search for hidden bits of loot, options, and enemies, you will be presented with a series of choices with a title, keep these choices in mind. They will be on every post, until you resolve them, you can not put them off, only encounters that have an option to walk away from them, can you choose not to resolve. It is on the What's That phase that you resolve these collected encounters. You have the following available actions you may take each action once in the What's That Phase: Salvage: As long as there is not an empty void in your tile, you may tear down that tile for a variable amount of EverOil This will destroy the wall / floor / stairs / non enemy things in your area until there is nothing but void left. Craft: You can craft any starting item for 5 EverOil Upgrade: You can upgrade any of your items for 10 EverOil the first time, this cost raises by 10 every subsequent time. Craft Vehicle For 50 EverOil you can craft a vehicle of your choosing, You must work with me personally and the Vehicle will show up somewhere on the map During one of the following phases depending on how long it takes Alien Activity During the Alien Activity phase, alien's moves, and the audience gets a participation vote. The way participation votes work, is that you can vote for any previous participation votes offered, or you can vote for the new option, every week there are at least 2 new options. This phase is in between the What's That and Mount Up, the results of the What's That phase will be posted on the Mount Up phase. Creating a Prisoner: Choose a name: Whatever you name yourself will be how I refer to your prisoner in perpetuity. Assign Attributes: assign 12 points over your three stats (Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence). When assigning attributes, keep in mind that all rolls will be 3D6+Relevant Stat VS a target number. Pick 4 items: From the list below, pick 4 items, this is your Starting Gear. If you need recommendations, 1 Healing Item, 1 Ranged Weapon, 1 Melee Weapon and 1 type of Armor. Pick 1 Race: Pick 1 race which gives you a permanent Buff, everyone gets a drawn character portrait, so any details/colors/accessories you want to put in, go right ahead. Calculate Derived Stats: For health You take the middle score, also known as the median of your 3 stats, add 7 to it, and multiply that number by 3. For Armored Defence, add your STR to 10, for Physical Defense, add your DEX to 10, for Mental Defense add your INT to 10. A few glowy bits Biovux is a sneaky little warper. Like most of his kind, it can't take a hit but he can really dish out the damage and move quickly, thanks to being able to float around and squeeze into even the smallest cracks with his tendrils and gelatinous flesh. Armor and size isn't an issue when you can go straight through the cracks of battle damage, after all! That made it fast and smart enough to overcome its gelatinous lack of strength. Biovux was imprisoned for an unfortunate love of breaking things apart. It care if the hover-car was moving, the person needed that machine for medical support or the toilet was going to get clogged up; Biovux just wormed his way in there and broke it apart piece by piece for fun. The Zeus was an intergalactic colony ship that went offline 20 years ago, 5 years into their mission to reach a potential colony world on a fringe world. No distress beacon was used, and the vessel was only located by chance, a member of the ELO Police Department or ELOPD found them on a patrol route You will take notice the SS Zeus was equipped with multiple plasma cannons, a warp engine, and a hangar bay that could fit 10 fighter ships, and it held enough EverOil to jump start a city. Scans say there are multiple organic life forms on board, but those signatures don't match any known species. The AI is reading as disabled You must get the AI functioning properly, or else we will not extract you, and the defense systems are on auto-pilot. The gravity and atmos system are ONLINE You will be entering via Drill Drones into the Crew Quarters, Command, or Engineering, convict's choice, this is the only blind spot between the ships weapon systems. Once in the ship, it will be your job to make your way to the AI core, reactivate it. Whoever manages to activate it will receive a bounty of 50 EverOil and 1 demerit removed from their sentence remember 3 demerits removed, and you can be let free! The ELO will be monitoring the situation, and will regularly send supplies, scans, and information that will be valuable to you.
