Man, I just don't know about running Bron at center, especially for this much of games. Maybe there is a reason to actually play guys taller than 6'8". This is D'antoni levels of microball and it just ain't working great. I just feel like there ought to be a replacement level 6'10" guy out there somewhere who be better than this and could maybe grab some rebounds

Yeah the rebounding is a major, major problem. I don't know if it's because Vogel is back or the 5 losses in a row really got the Lakers shook but they definitely seem to be taking these games a lot more serious than they were even a week ago. But it hasn't totally translated into good basketball, instead it's just been eeking past bad teams (except for the Blazers who are the worst team in the league right now no cap) and losing to a good one.

https://twitter.com/ProdiGNBA/status/1478015005173993475 psych tests are the dark arts of general managing. many (most?) teams have a consultant who applies these tests of dubious validity, and even less usefulness. i've talked to some of these psychologists, none of whom struck me as obvious quacks, but came away thinking that they really aren't providing anything to help with decision making. most of their opinions on the test takers are obvious, and the only interesting opinions they have are the most dubious, the kind of things you'd never trust or have any confidence in. however, it's the team's money to spend, not mine, and who am i to get in the way of a psych consultant picking up an easy paycheck and maybe getting some cred from being so close to the halls of basketball power. i am pretty sure no one actually takes these tests seriously on the front office side. but until now i just saw the tests as useless, never actually thinking they provided anti-information. dokmo fucked around with this message at 16:14 on Jan 3, 2022 |
