I expected the Sens to be absolutely dire to watch in the absence of 3 of their top 5 forwards (Batherson, Norris, C. Brown), but they've been surprisingly entertaining. Mostly on the backs of Stutzle, Chabot, and Nick Paul. More impressively, they've actually been competitive with the following forward lineup: Tkachuk - Stutzle - Ennis Formenton - Tierney - Gaudette Sanford - Paul - Watson Kastelic - Shaw - Sokolov If half the names on that list make you say "who?" or "they're still in the league?", you're not alone. e: During this stretch, Stutzle and Tkachuk have played a few full-2-minute powerplays because the team doesn't have any other options. Stützle looks like a completely different player since he moved to centre. He holds on to the puck longer, he’s been great defensively especially last night matched against McDavid. They’ve been competitive and fun with half their top 6 injured, but seeing Tierney and Sanford get powerplay time still hurts my soul

And the ones that might be looking to do it probably shouldn’t. The Western conference is full of these teams and the Pacific is loaded with them. I don’t see Dallas going for the stretch on it and all the Pacific teams seem to know that they might make the playoffs, but they probably aren’t actually good enough to make much happen if they get there. The only thing that’s going to make trades happen is the flat cap and teams trying to make cap space for the summer.
